Hands up all those who know what momentous event happened on 16th of August,1977...Give up????

The only chance Cypriots ever had of becoming a nation...
Long forgotten,lost amongst celebrations of EOKA days and TMT anniversaries...Amongst celebrations of Hellenic culture and traditions and Peace Operations and Turkish victories...may she rest in peace! :( :cry:

Stole the music from the Black people and made a mint because he was the acceptable white face for 'Rock and Roll', a white sanitization for Rhythm and Blues.

Most Cypriots at the time were busy mourning Makarios III who died a couple of weeks earlier on the 3rd of August so there was not much attention paid to Elvis on the island.
