I've been told that the waterpark in Limassol will let you in for half price if you bring a local utility bill. Does anyone know if this is still the case, and does it apply to your whole party, or just you?

Cheers

When I went a couple of years back, I took my Cypriot ID with me. I went with a friend and asked for 2 tickets whilst showing her my ID. We got in at half price, though she gave my mate an almighty dirty look, a look of disgust. I'm assuming its because she realised that he wasn't a local.

I'd call them first to confirm. Let me know, because I have several utility bills which might be worth me selling them at £5 each in the carpark.

We went with a Cypriot family who asked for the tickets and got them half price. I will insist next time we go but best to take a bill I guess.

We went there a couple of weeks ago taking a utility bill, they refused to accept this and said we should have taken our residency cards. The place was not at all busy, perhaps if they charged a lower fee for everyone they would have more regular visitors.

Also, (don't know if this is true) somebody told us that you are not allowed to take your own drinks into the Napa waterpark and then once inside you are charged much inflated prices for drinks? Is this true?

The first time I went and asked for a reduced price I had my utility bill. The girl at the cash desk asked which area I lived in and as I replied easily she said OK.
The next time I was told to bring a passport to verify the utility bill belonged to me - that was OK.
The third time I was told to bring my Cyprus residency card although I did get in at the reduced price.
The reduction does apply to the whole party.
We do take some drinks and sandwiches in the beach bag, but nothing as obvious as a cooler box!

Hmmm. Not so happy with taking in passports and residency cards into basically a big swimming pool... Hopefully photocopies will do (although I only have alien book, passport, and utility bills at the minute, having only been here about 9 months).

We’ve always got in for half price without any bills or anything… Some friends that went recently were asked for a driving licence. I guess they were finding that everybody was getting in for half price!

I recommend it as a good day out though and good value (especially at half price).

Yeah, I love waterparks. I thought the one in Limassol would just be some small effort. But from the website it looks top notch, and has apparently been voted in the top 3 waterparks in Europe. Pretty good when it's on your doorstep :) Interestingly the UK isn't exactly covered in waterparks, but I used to live within a 5 minute walk of one. Wasn't very big (more like a big swimming pool with a few water pipe slides), but most handy (esp. with racket club and forest walk place with Krypton factor type assault course for kids next to it). Seem to be attracted to waterparks without realising it...
