I kinda liked my spot... well obviously! :?

I hope more of you will come to the next one and it doesn't matter if we're sometimes nasty to each other online because words alone can never hurt you but it's people's actions that do so we need to strive for our actions to be positive and productive and getting together IS one such positive action.

Well said GR! You can be positive...... sometimes.

I pray that he means it Niki

Maybe it was just a GR glitch/anomaly DA. Or maybe he can continue on this path of righteousness???

No Zan, don't put GR off with the double glazing quip. Might make him revert back to being a g*t again. 8)

Ouch!!!

Said in the nicest possible way with sugar on top though.

I hope he 'finds' it. He can be nice when he is ahem....well, nice.

Hmmm.... profound!!

Actually I know he can sometimes be "nice". I think he throws it in just to confuse people.

You can say that again. I expect he will post you a box of Turkish, sorry Cypriot Delight.

Hi

Just 'popped in' to say hello and to thank all those at the meeting. Was as ever nice to meet up face to face.

Thanks to GR for initiating and organising it.

Thanks to iceman for bringing it to my attention.

Thanks to MrfromNG for paying for everything (I had a milkshake that was £3.90 !!! That is not that far off the $15 dollar milkshake in pulp fiction !)

Thanks to the rest for comming and making the event so enjoyable.

Look forward to the next one.

Good.

Some Turkish / Anatolian Philosopher has been quoted as saying, "gorundugun gibi ol veyahut oldugun gibi gorun". There are better translators than I on this forum, please translate. I would hate to make a hash of it. If my memory serves me right it was said by Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi. Karma my dear would you do the honours or Zan?

....and No it is not offensive.

Regards
Deniz

That quote is indeed by Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi...dear Deniz.

He is very close to my heart. So although not asked I will take the liberty of attempting a translation...The quote is "Ya Oldugun gibi Gorun...Ya Gorundugun gibi Ol"...And you don't have to know Turkish to see the poetry and the economy of the language...
"Either appear as you are...Or be as you appear"...(With appologies to Mevlana).

Ps.Well done you guys...I was there in spirit...Jack Daniel's to be exact.. :)
MR...I see you have not given up the evil weed...Or was it just the exitement of the meeting???

Hope to meet you all in not so distant future...

Thanks BK, It was rude of me not to mention you, but where there is Karma ....

Regards

Yes,dear Deniz...I am particularly happy with my karma these days...
I am away from home at the moment. When I get back I might post some other wisdom from Mevlana...The world needs his advice more than ever...thank you for quoting him in the first place... :)

Get Real! wrote:Ok, the meeting went fine. Attendees were DT, Halil, GR, Iceman, Bananiot, MrfromNG, and Erolz (admin of another forum).

Facts of the day:

* The Turkish Cypriots were half an hour late but when they came it was a shower…

* DT shaved his beard off to better resemble Somonie’s bum…

* Halil brought two trays of carob Pastelli one of which never saw the light of day as it was too close to Bananiot… :? what happened to second box ?
* Iceman was getting very hungry and upset because the waiter was taking too long so he started calling Nicos on the mobile… luckily the food came before Nicos had time to arrive!

* Most of these fine “Cypriots” ate burgers except for Halil who had little pizzas! U called them pizzas !!!! toasted rolls topped with feta cheese . after words my stomach was upset.

* Beer consumption was on the rise big time… the waiter spent most of his time fetching bottles and cans! I think everyone felt a little drowsy by 3pm… :? nothing happened to me...... they didn't enough called beer.we changed the brand....... i hade sketto coffee......

* Halil entertained with his Portuguese man-o-war stories which cannot be revealed here and have now become a state secret… 8)

i will bring u one of them !!!!!!!

* Erolz revealed that all this time he had thought GR was only 17 and GR thought… “Kewl” 8) Erolz he is a goodman also he loves TRNC also he tries how can solve the Cyprus problem. i was very happy to hear how he was organised and they cleaned the Greek Cypriot Cemetery in Kyreania also he he is planning more things hopefully our Greek Cypriots friends will organised for Turkish Cypriots cemetries at south. Also i learn that he was a moderator in this forum.it was shock for me to find out why he was left.

* MrfromNG showed everyone the true power of a Gold Mastercard! 8)
when i met with MrfromNG it was suprise for me..... i knew him before .
also i know his dad very well.

* On his way out DT decided that GR was in greater need of his pack of Marlboros thus leaving them behind and GR was quick to agree and oblige.
with his new image he looked more younger.

* A single picture was taken of the group which is now collecting dust on Iceman’s memory card. The picture being so rare now should fetch around ₤5,000 at Christies! :D

we are proud to show ourself.we are not hiding behind our fingers.!!!!
WHEN THE DOGS ARE BARKİNG DON,T SCARE FROM THOSE DOGS !!!!!

* GR handed out autographs at just ₤20.00 +15% VAT and everyone thought...”What a bargain!” 8)

Regards, GR.
