I kinda liked my spot... well obviously!
I hope more of you will come to the next one and it doesn't matter if we're sometimes nasty to each other online because words alone can never hurt you but it's people's actions that do so we need to strive for our actions to be positive and productive and getting together IS one such positive action.
Good.
Some Turkish / Anatolian Philosopher has been quoted as saying, "gorundugun gibi ol veyahut oldugun gibi gorun". There are better translators than I on this forum, please translate. I would hate to make a hash of it. If my memory serves me right it was said by Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi. Karma my dear would you do the honours or Zan?
....and No it is not offensive.
Regards
Deniz
That quote is indeed by Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi...dear Deniz.
He is very close to my heart. So although not asked I will take the liberty of attempting a translation...The quote is "Ya Oldugun gibi Gorun...Ya Gorundugun gibi Ol"...And you don't have to know Turkish to see the poetry and the economy of the language...
"Either appear as you are...Or be as you appear"...(With appologies to Mevlana).
Ps.Well done you guys...I was there in spirit...Jack Daniel's to be exact..
MR...I see you have not given up the evil weed...Or was it just the exitement of the meeting???
Hope to meet you all in not so distant future...
