Something tells me that instead of "derives" you should've used "is derived" but anyway back on-topic...

The Gaelic derivation is news to me and all I recall is the American Indians calling it "fire-water" and I can understand why!

My knowledge of God is so miniscule that all I can do is throw my hands up in the air and hope for the best...

Is Christianity great?

Take a look at this ugly messiah:

Why it's Dr. Faustus!

Exit Devil ...

You gorrit, Filitsa! Are you the vision of Helen sent to me by Mephistophiles to claim my soul for Satan??

But to return to 'nos moutons' ...... Religious faith provides believers with incredible comfort in times of hopelessness and deep distress and is a fine, less dangerous, less messy and less anti-social alternative to Prozac, whiskey or suicide. I envy those with it, having to depend on strength of character instead, which is no fun at all

That's an intelligent lady actually... she seems to be the "extreme" type of Christian who goes by the book to a "T" and in all honesty if we were to go by the book as she seems to, the vast majority are doomed.

Let's keep in mind that God doesn't offer a choice of his commandments but the whole lot or nothing.

"Something tells me..."? Lame. I would think a "purveyor of fine messages" could do better than that. If you really wanted to stick it to me, you might have criticized me for not preceding "whiskey" with "the word" or otherwise not surrounding it with quotation marks. ;)

At almost two in the morning and having consumed plenty of alcohol I'm definitely not interested in sticking anything to you and happily admit that my lameness IS DERIVED from the consumption of alcohol...

Derived IS Wrong. Derives IS Correct. My constant lapse of memory is Not" derived" from regular consumption of alcohol , it Derives from regular consumption of alcohol since it continues deriving , continues detiriorating ! Here is another one. His faith in God DERIVES from , because it continues to derive from , his early indocrination by his parents !! When he dies then refereing to his faith one would then say His faith derived !!
