Cyprus Airways employees

Postby jane12 » Thu Aug 09, 2007 3:11 pm

Can anyone tell me what exactly is wrong with people who work at Cyprus Airways?? - Perhaps an actual Cyprus Airways employee could answer this message.

Flights all seem to leave on time, and service is generally good, but all staff refuse to smile, they refuse to be polite, and customer service is obviously not in the employee handbook.

Go to any CA office here... book a ticket and let me know if you get as much as a smile - a 'thank-you' is completely out of the question I know, but have they all been specifically instructed and threatened with being fired if they smile??

Same applies when you are on the flight. Cabin crew are there - yes we all know, primarily for our safety, but for God's sake - Cheer up!! - you'll be back home tonight (or maybe that's what's wrong with them?)

Got to agree with Jane on this. At one point, I refused to travel with CA because of the cabin crew who didn't give a shit about passengers.

On the otherhand, the plus sign is, they may get delayed on departure 90% of the time, but they make up alot of time on their arrivals.

Maybe thats what it is, they see everyone else as lower class, so no need to smile?

On that not, when I came to live in Cyprus, had a 1 way ticket, and the service wasn't too bad on the plane. Was alot better than previous times. I always prefered flying with Monarch. Always had a good flight with them, though their planes were held together with masking tape :|

I think a lot of it is the way the great travelling public treat the airline staff! They seem to expect VIP treatment, and often they are extremely rude to the ground/air crews when they don't get it.
It costs nothing to be nice, and a smile usually gets returned!

Dunno about CA being the only surly mob.

My daughter arrived at Paphos airport a couple of months ago and had so much luggage she needed two trolleys.

I watched her struggle to get to the area where I could help her; all the while she was followed by this guy with an ID card on a chain who made absolutely no attempt to assist her.

he seemed surprised when i called him a pushti malaca.

Get with it the service industries of Cyprus, it costs nothing to be helpful and polite and you never know you may get to enjoy it!!!
