Can the 60s agreements be utilized today in European Cyprus?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

That is what i call denial.
No Greek citizen gives a shit about Cyprus.Give a poll and ask how many are willing to fight for Cyprus.

I care about the issue since you are dragging us down with this guarantee bullshit.Gladly would i fight for Cyprus if it had anything to do with Greece.I see no point in fighting about Cyprus since you the Cypriots cant work together.

So SN; How do you feel about Crete and Rhodes.

If they wanted to self-govern, which I think Crete did once, and then the Turks invaded Crete.....

Would you think it was okay to turn a blind eye to a small neighbour in need of saving.

Crete has astonishing silirities with Cyprus. The island declared independence ''Kritiki Politeia'' which was universally recognized in 1898.It was officially united in 1913.They were fighting for 90 years to be united to Greece.

Turkey remembers Crete very very well. She couldnt afford to loose Cyprus as well like Crete.

Rhodes got united without a fight it was given to Greece from Italy in 1947 and a year later united to Greece.

We can help you in other ways.We can send humanitarian help in case of war.But if you obligate me to go to war bsc your inability to speak to each other then off course i couldnt care less for Cyprus.

Drop us from a guarantor power and then maybe i ll come and help.

Now if they want now to self govern i have no problem since i see them as my compatriots unlike the GC which i only consider them ''omoethnis''
My compatriots are free to do what ever they want.My ''omoethnis'' though belong to greater family which i see no reason in protecting.

Now if you are asking me what i would do if after their self govern Turkey invaded, off course i would fall for Crete or Rhodes. They are my compatriots....you arent...

Trust me SN, nobody wants to obligate you to go to War. Mainly because you are more likely to fight the GCs than the Turks. That's if you don't run like a coward off the battlefield at the first sight of hostilities.

Greece, on the other hand, on the whole, has a completely different view from you; otherwise, it wouldn't be a signatury to the Joint Defence Doctrine, nor would it be a guarantor to the RoC. Therefore, we welcome Greece's support.

I am not obligating you to do anything. The Greek state chose to agree to these Treaties; Cyprus does not obligate them or you to do anything. You have the choice to leave Greece, or simply refuse to go to War should it arise. I am sure that you have no qualms about being labelled a traitor, taking into consideration some of your posts against Greece.

Surely you mean you blackmailed Greece's support before the 1960 Indipendence with the guarantee Treaty.

About the Joint Pact....we ve through that.Greece's self interest dictated the pact.Greece and Turkey caused the outmost pain to your people. When you wake up from your Hellenic and Kemalic dreams we will see...

Explain how Greece's support was blackmailed?

Whether Greece's self-interest dictated it or not is irrelevant. The point is, they willfully signed it (hence no obligating or blackmailing) and it also suites Cyprus' interests. So everybody is happy apart from you. Just the way I like it.

Greece has caused pain and made mistakes re Cyprus. Mostly because of an unelected junta which the ordinary Greek people can hardly be blamed for. Therefore, perhaps Greece owes Cyprus some support now, in order to rectify past mistakes. I believe she is doing this.
