Did Greece declare war on Turkey?
Did Greece despatch Naval Warships to attack the Turkish Navy in order to halt the invasion?
Did they despatch fighter aircraft to countenance Turkey's domination of the skies? Did these engage Turkish aircraft?
What percentage of the Armed Forces of the Hellenic Republic fought on Cyprus to defend the island?
Did the Hellenic Armed Forces react in any significant way to defend Cyprus following the invasion; apart from the troops already stationed in Cyprus previously?
The obvious answers to the above questions leads any logical person to the conclusion that Greece did not enter into full-scale warfare to defend Cyprus.
Furthermore, the Treaty of Guarantee does not obligate War in any event. If you have ever read the document, you would know this; which leads me back to my original point. Cyprus cannot obligate Greece to do anything. Greece signs its Treaties out of free will, and once doing so, should uphold them.

During the second World War when Cyprus was under British rule, my father (one of the truest indigenous Cypriots) fought for the British Army. He was sent to Greece to help against the Italian, and then German invasions.
He didn't have to do this, and was in fact a liberal pacifist, but he was forced to by his conscience, to help like-minded democratic people to hold on to their freedom.
Are you know saying, that you will only help Cyprus because you are legally bound to do so, and not because Freedom and Democracy are worth preserving?
I abhor the idea of war, and it would be really great if we could find a way, economic or similar, to remove the Turks from Cyprus.
As you may know Indigenous Cypriots are the only ones who have NEVER invaded another Country, or started an aggressive war. We have only ever defended ourselves. I would dearly love for this to remain unspoilt.

Let me catch my breath!!
Greece mounts an illegal coup against our President, and I am ungrateful for then expecting them to fully defend the island from an invasion that THEY precipitated!!! Well, I can honestly say, you are a joker!
Greece sent shit!!! Cyprus needed proper support; i.e. substantial naval, air and land forces. Greece provided NOTHING of the required quantities to ever hope of defending the island. Greece did not go to War to defend Cyprus! End of story! When I say 'War' I mean proper, full-scale War, and not a small token force. And if you think any different then you are a bigger idiot than what I previously thought (if that is possible).

Ungrateful? When Greece caused the invasion and did not defend Cyprus afterwards? Now you are simply showing everybody your true colours. A pure idiot. What you should have done is not mounted a coup against our President in the first place, never mind helping in any invasion.
On your junta comment; how can the majority of the Greek population be blamed for an unelected, CIA supported junta? More complete rubbish.
I would want you on Turkey's side on a battlefield. Nothing would make me happier. I certainly would not want you fighting for Cyprus, a coward like you would undoubtedly hinder our cause. I would look for you first on any battlefield.
Simon wrote:Since the people of Greece are not to be blamed for the Junda why you blame Greece ha?And we did send help even if the Junda just fall ONLY BSC of Cyprus did the Junda fall in Greece.
I do not blame the Greek people generally. As a nation, politically, Greece had some responsibility for the invasion. There is a clear difference and this is undeniable. Because of the history and current climate of Cyprus, Greece has responsibilities and duties; not least because of the Treaties it has signed. I have already addressed the topic of 'help' so please don't start repeating yourself over and over like you did in another thread we debated. It is unhelpful and just shows your lack of arguments. Greece had a very small force on Cyprus, that was there before the invasion and that never had a hope in hell of defending the island from the large scale Turkish invasion. After causing the invasion, Greece (politically) had a responsibility to do everything in its power to defend Cyprus from it. For whatever reason (collapse of the Junta or whatever) it didn't. These are undeniable facts, even for you. Let us not lose sight of the wider argument here. The point of all this was that Greece was not obligated to go to War, and it didn't. In any event, the Treaty of Guarantee does not obligate War! If it did, Greece would be obligated to still be at war today, as Turkey is still violating the Constitution today. And Greece isn't at War today!!
If the junta collapsed ONLY because of Cyprus then you should be GRATEFUL TO US. We did you a favour. Now you are an ungrateful piece of shit for stating that you wished to fight against Cyprus, the nation that ridded you of your dictatorship.
Then you say this:Next time you ungratefull Cypriot i will gladly help Turkey annex you and burn your flag in your grave.
As if it is supposed to hurt my feelings. Next time I will gladly put you into your Coffin as you are burning my flag Turk!
