Well done Cytanet

Im very dissapointed with Cyta. Their services are getting worse and worse. They are claiming upgrades on their systems but instead of faster, the connection seems to be getting slower and slower both at home and at work.
Especially the upload speed is really bad. It takes me half a day to send a 200MB file.
Can anyone recommend any other provider with decent upload speeds?

- in Cyprus.

When I was studying in London I used to send files up to 1GB in maximum 5 hours!

yes england have fast upload speeds, even now with bethere you can have a 2.5Mbit upload for £40 a month and a 24mbit downstrream... just imagine that 200MB file would send in like 20 minutes...

and cyprus cable have a 1Mbit upload and a 10Mbit download but its £200 a month.. i think eventually prices will get cheaper...for now the best deal is otenet 2Mbit down and 512kb up for £30 a month but im way out of range for that :/

no i mean the upload not the download the 512 our talking about is the Download.... cytanet do not offer a 512kb upload.....not that i am aware of anyway

and a 4Mbit connection costs £95.. cytanet will offer faster... im waiting until september 1 to see if they are any good speeds but i will be in england on a sweet 20mbit cable line... well see when i get back it will seem like dial up this 2mbit connection

well, it should take you maximum 5 hours to upload a 200mb file on any provider with 128Kb upstream...

Wavespeed: (200 * 1024) / 12.8 / 60 / 60 = 4.4 hours.
Cytanet in it's current state:(200 * 1024) / 7 / 60 / 60 = 8.1 hours.
Otenet in perfect conditions (200 * 1024) / 51.2 / 60 / 60 = 1.1 hours.
