Even the US has smelled the Oil

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes I do agree that major oil supplies could be of great economic and political interest to USA, Russia and even China. I further agree that, out of the three USA is more likely to get involved militarily to protect economic interests, BUT I do not agree that any such situation exists around Cyprus for now.

BTW, I always said and insist that US intervention in Iraq was not Al Kaida (which is even more clear now) or to aid Iraqi people against oppression! It was the ongoing oil deals between Iraq, Europe and China where Saddam was willing to drop US dollar as the oil-currency in preference to EU dollar! This is why many of the major powers in Europe who had interests in those deals (e.g. Germany, France, Russia etc. opposed participating in any military intervention at the time).

Ray I like the way you have presented our argument and chalenge to GG. I hope that I can remain so calm when debating on these issues. Thank you for the example. AV

no one has yet to explain to me why the titile of this thread is "even the US has smelled the oil." i don't get "you people." some of you seem so so angry that the USA didn't step in and help out in 1974. and i read comments from some that make you sound like you might actually like us if we stood up for the GCs, and here we are, according to this artical, which, BTW, is not from FOX news, and you still complain and try to find ulterior motives. as far as i'm concerned, it's all just proof some of you like to complain, and lay blame on others for your own weaknesses. go on and complain, i find it very entertaining.

It's not RACISM you naive ape.

The US is a country full of many people whose ethnic origins represent all of mankind. We are all (unfortunately) related to each other, we are all one species.

The thread is IRONY on the forces that drive the US as a POLITICAL POWER not as a HUMAN.

But why am I bothering explaining to someone with clearly no pre-frontal cortex.

GorillaGal wrote:you mean the one right now? it is for terrorism. although you will argue it is about oil, and i am sure that plays some part in it, this present war is to stop terrorism. remember 9-11????

The situation in Iraq does not qualify for the distinction of the title 'WAR, ' since there was no declaration of it.

Civil unrest and uprising against oppressive aggression would be a more suitable description.

In my humble opinion.
