We choose our own leaders and what you call our ruling elites. In the last 30 years we have been voting for Denktas over and over so whatever he said and he did was our responsibility as much as his.
You make it sound like we are living in a totalitarian system.
p.s. And in no time I will claim that democracy in the north is perfect and again in no time I will claim that representative democracy in general is perfect. But that is the best we have. And even failing to change the broken system is our failure as well. Up to 3 years ago we were continuously were failing to challenge the existing system.
However, getting financial aids and funds in order to create equal circumstances for TCs and stability of United Cyprus is a different issue and it's a must. The cost of the damage caused to the North of Cyprus by all concerned parties is huge.
That's what I'm saying, too; turkcyp. And also this is what the Annan Plan envisages also.
I do not think so. I believe the sooner we realize that it is only we who can save us, the better it is. I am completely against financial aids which are not given as a debt and which are given as funds instead of projects.
And also I believe that was a bad side of Annan Plan and should not exist in the new proposed plan if there will be any.
