Why are some diaspora Cypriots living in a time warp?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Without going round in circles too... if the Turks had not bombed us in 63-64 and I had not been caught on my own against a Turkish plane that was ducking and diving to kill me.....my life may have been a different story.

Now, I am sadly trying to rationalise it through this inane exchange with some sad, twisted Turk.

This sad twisted Turk was two three years old when the GCs started to kill on Bloody Christmas Eve. He thought he could not remember what went on in those days but in his late 30's he had a bit of a break down and it all came back with a vengence. Woomen screaming and tracer Bullets flying. I was ebven taken to see the house where those children were slaughtered. The blood was still wet on the ground. Why I was sick when I smelled blood became evident.

Anyways...Still looking for answers my self and I will not get them talking to a sick brain washed mind like yours.......Gives me practice with tthe keyboard though..Thank you!!

Zan: Why can't I believe you suffered. I am sorry but I can not.

You say you had a breakdown.....I really sympathise with that.

I've never gone that far, I am a tough old boot. Many sad moments in my life though. Can't enjoy fireworks or planes flying over, as shivers run down my back remembering those Turkish planes bombing me alone, and when I was at school, and when we were picking olives etc

Why do I still think you are merely jumping on the bandwagon :?

Chimera, you must now know that these arguments all go round in circles. They tend to say the same thing over & over with a change of emphasis here & there.

We need enlightenement, instead entrenched views are the order of the day apart from some notable exceptions; but they are obviously traitors & heretics!!!!

I trust that because one is of Turkish ethnicity doesn't necessarilly predispose him to being sad & twisted. This may be due to other, non racial factors, and certainly not affected by whether you disagree with their views.

Respect to all

Suffering is universal & not the preserve of one race, creed, colour or religion.
Just accept that many people have sufferred at different times & if they have jumped banwagons, then they are only fooling themselves.
Maybe Chimera & Zan can start a support group to promote greater mutual understanding?

Nick T; if you only knew the things I have suffered every time I have let my guard down to Turks.

The frustration of knowing I have been forced to accept that only the complete removal of Turks from Cyprus would bring me peace and happiness, versus my rational self that realises it is only man against the elements that we should be fighting for, and all together at that.

I am not a psychotherapist so cannot counsell you on the legitimacy of a perpetual fear of Turks. I suppose your experiences form & inform your view of your environment. Your experience of course will justify your views. However, intellectual rigour would suggest that not each & every Turk is predisposed to harming you or any other Greek Cypriot. It is obviously easy to say this without the emotional aspect attached to the trauma you have sufferred.
I hope that one day you will find the peace that each human deserves.

Chimera, no?, I have seen Frasier but cannot visualise who you mean. I am not a WASP nor English. I am from fine peasant Cypriot stock, just like virtually all Cypriots on this forum, unless they are in denial & think they are aristocrats purely down to any economic success they enjoy.

Noel Coward, top man & in the original Italian job. Few people talk like that now. Shame really.

My breakdown came when I was put on steroids for another Cypriot disease caused by Asbestos. As for you believing what I say...Could not give a monkeys armpit. This is not just about you and me.. It is about the survival of my people and sick fucks like you that want to get rid of us. It ain't going to happen chum so don't beat yourself up about it. I have met people like you before and the selfishness is always there no matter what they do or say. Perhaps if you were not so brain washed then you might actually get cured of your ailment because then you would have to blame yourself a little bit and then stop feeling sorry for your self.
Perhaps if you played it back in your mind and realised that the speed a jet goes it cannot just turn and chase an individual on the ground as easy as you said. Bullshit seems to come out of your mouth as well as hate. Anyway...My depression went a long time ago. No problems since and no steroids. Sweet dreams.
