Why would Turkey not want Cyprus to drill for oil off its own coast ?

Because they are thieves and they want to take our oil like they took our land. I just wonder what excuse they will give this time if they attack us for the oil!!

The Turkish Petroleum International Company has been continuing its gas and oil exploration in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Deputy Prime Ministry-Foreign Ministry has welcomed the initiative taken by the Turkish Petroleum International Company to start gas and oil exploration in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Ministry stated that the initiative is the proof of the legitimate rights and interests of both Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean.
In a written statement today, Deputy Prime Ministry-Foreign Ministry said the latest initiative by the Turkish Petroleum International Company will give the necessary message to all concerned, especially to the Greek Cypriot Administration.

Welcoming the decision taken by the Turkish Petroleum International Company, it described it as the confirmation of the fact that the Turkish Side will not remain silent to attempts which could harm its legitimate rights and interest in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Many Italian, Turkish, British and Indian experts are taking part in exploration works which are being carried out by the Italian Fugro Oceansismica Firm, one of the most important offshore survey firms in the world.

Experts say scientific methods will be used to examine the findings of the offshore surveys which are expected to be completed in a week.

And what right do the Turks have in the sea between Cyprus and Egypt?

Bloody barbarian thieves, thats what the Turks are. I just hope anybody that listens to their lies about the events in the 60s and 70s can see these thieves in action today and make his judgment about them.

What Zan said translates to "I have nothing to excuse the Turkish aggression since the events are happening today and not in some day in the past where I could lie about. So lets turn this thread into a joke and try to avoid it"

The crimes you are committing every day by holding us under siege is going on from 1963 mate so I would not talk shit if I were you. It just changed from 3% to 37% because of your actions so don't try and act the innocent.

And which court found us guilty of those "crimes"? The Turkish court? You are simply facing the consequences of your attempts to divide our country, and you want to blame us on top of it??

But as I see you are trying to change the topic again, and trying to bring back them past so you can lie about it. You don't like to talk about the actions of Turkey today because you can not lie about them, right zan?

No need to lie about them Piratis they are there in the lit flag for you to see. The thing that brought about the situation is what you are trying to hide but cause and effect is not what you are after is it. We just arrived at 1974 as if by magic.

The Turks came to take part of Cyprus as it was their plans for decades. It is not that the Turks need any special reason to invade others. If it was like that the Ottoman empire would never exist. Thats the reason, and for that you give some excuses.

So now stop avoiding the topic and tell me what the excuse is for Turkey claiming oil between Cyprus and Egypt? Or you didn't find a good enough excuse for this yet?

How about this is an excuse: Having some kind of pseudo unification, then start a conflict in Cyprus again so then Turkey can come to "save you" and take the whole Cyprus and the oil. Sounds good for a plan?
