Oil ?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby BirKibrisli » Wed Aug 15, 2007 2:03 pm

It is truly depressing to come face to face with the naked power of certain global industries...Nobody can deny the fact any longer that it is not governments who decide important issues in the capitalist world but big capital...Even Blind Fredie can see that we must fundamentally change the kind of energy we consume, and how we consume it, if we are to save the planet from certain disaster...But what are we doing, apart from paying lip service to technologies like solar and wind power???Bugger all...We are intend to use the last drop of our planet's oil and coal, and stuff the consequences,as long as the shareholders of certain big global companies are happy and getting richer, all is well with the world...
And what are they really pushing as a viable alternative when oil and coal runs out???? Nuclear power...Welcome to the spectacle to mark the end of the world as we know it...And keep digging for more oil around Cyprus!!!

Like everything else in this plantation it turned out to be the biggest farce. The collossi, the government promised people that would come to Cyprus in a rush for our oil, creating a stampeded, materialised into two dwarfs, yesterday, out of which only one company sent its representative. The other, sent everything by post.

three applications were made, One from a US firm and 2 from a consortium made up of US, UAE and Norwegian companies.

They made it ... sound like three. The consortium applied for two plots, that is all. The question is, where are the colossi, they were promising us back in February?

Bananiot what do you have to say about Turkey who has fallen in the trap like a stupid mouse?

while the state-owned Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) opened tenders for oil and gas exploration in a 4,000-square-kilometer area in the eastern Mediterranean in May.

Btw the seabed in Cyprus is about the same depth as at the North pole where the Russians descended with their mini submarine.(about 4000m) And we are not just talking for a 50 billion oil deposits at the North pole....

Forget it guys. All the oil deposits on the planet were known a long time ago.We discovered NOTHING. Ours are among the non commercially worthy.

DT the applications are for three plots but the companies are just two. We have simply been ignored. No one takes us seriously any more.
