You don't want unification so don't stir the pot. You specifically do not want unification Zan, so leave me alone.

I respect all Cypriots and there are some on this forum who speak Turkish also and I hold outmost respect for them. Unfortunately you have chosen to side with Barbarian Turks that is fine. also. Do Not expect me to agree with violation of human rights, exploitation of propoerty and enial of ones country.

Then have a word with your leaders that are doing that to us.

What I have done is not chosen your corrupt side and that is what is pissing you off. The "RoC' has nothing to offer me and makes a point of offering me nothing so I have no side to chose except that of my long suffering people. You want me to help you out with your conscience then all you have to do is ask. You do not start calling people names while you are trying to strike a deal with them. How the hell do you think you are ever going to get a deal if that is your attitude. Partition is because of people like you that have no skill in talking. You elect people that have no skill in talking and therefore choose not to talk. try thinking with your head instead of your pockets and Hellenistic hearts and we might actually get some where.

Leave you alone...Keep using bigoted and racists terms and you will never get me off your back./

You are right there Humanist. It was not out of choice but unfortunately the TCs were forced into the corner by the events of '63 and that is what happens. It would not have been my first choice. My first choice was Cyprus for Cypriots, but look at the mess you made. You wanted your Enosis the TCs said OXI and you lost part of the Island. Obviously the TC's do not want your kind of Hellenism in Cyprus. If you do you can have it in the south. If you give Hellenism up, maybe there is some hope for those who want Cyprus for the Cypriots.

DA

DA & T_C firstly you make me smile because you both came on the forum saying you wanted unification and keep an open mind and thus far you have failed to acknowledge the part T_C & Turkey have played in the situation of today, but that is okay if you wish to maintain status quo and fail to be visionaries of a country you may love or not love that is entirely your choice.

Secondly as the events of 63 cornered the T-C's the events of 74 cornered the G-C's. The question is do you want a solution or not? I maintain the answert to your question some want to Turkify Cypreus. To this end it is hypocrytical to believe that its okay for Cyprus to be Turkified and hot allow Hellenism to take over. PERSONALLY I BELIEVE BOTH SUCK.

Thirdly I was too young to know what ENOSIS was so please do not make statements such as "you" refering to me. I did not then and do not now. You have become a blaming person just like the rest along with T-C your coments about you want Hellenism keep it in the south, does not enable you to take responsibility for the Turkification of the North. If you look what is happenning the north is overwhelmingly more Turkified than the so called Hellenic south. Most Cypriots on this forum argue for Turkification of the North and uniofication of both north and south.

From your post I conclude that we have not moved in 33 years. Blame and no suggestions for resolution and secondly you keep talking about choice. I wish to say that TC's in Cyprus 2007 have more choice than GC's do. You can move to the sotuh and claim all of your properties get employent and health. I doubt that GC"s are afforded the same choice. On a larger level you can move back to the RoC under 1960's constitution as a permanent solution or as temporary one till a final lasting solution is found.

Or you can choose to be like the many TC's on this forum who have accepted a victim roile and are playing on it. Or you may choose to become a visionary of unifiying your people, that is if you consider GC's as your people. If the answer to that is NO then am sorry to say that Cyprus are doomed. Unless we see all of us as Cypriot not Greek Not Turkish then we will not have solution and if that is the case then I suggest lets keep it as is excactly as is. Partition and economic embargo. Sounds fair to me.

Please try to saty away from saying to you wanted enoiss because I dd not want enosis and my mother lsot her brother because of it.

Hi Humanist. I would have liked your smile to be a genuine one and not a sneer. My personal view - for what its worth - is for a solution, which will safeguard the rights and safety of TCs. Personally I do not believe in Partition, but only as a last resort, and only when all else fails. Unification is one option, but I do not see that happenng. A BBF looks like a more promising option which I feel that it will have difficulties with our GC friends. I am realistic enough to see that as time goes by our options are decreasing, sadly. Leaving no room for maneuvering. This I will put the blame on leaders of both sides. As for re: Hellenism is only in response to some other forum members comments. I realise that the "Turkification" of the North is unacceptible to the GCs as is the talk of Hellenism is to the TCs. What can be done about it? I know it is easy to say lets all be "Cypriots" and I am one, and proud of it.

DA thnx, I do appreciate your honesty and yes a genuine smile would have been better. My apologies on that one. Hey as far as Turkification vs Helenism, I cannot stand either. Both evisl that small minds need to feed on. Cyprus is what it is because of the richness of both linguistic groups and I believe that is the only difference amongst Cypriots. I believe that if we looked closer the similiarities would outway the difference. What can be done about it? Lots on an individual and communal level.

RoC scraps anthem immediately, Papadopoulos let it go man. It's time for a change Greek flags/ Turkish flags come down. Both communities and this is where the individual come into play change your attitude and teach your young to be proud Cypriots. It is easy to say it and not very much more difficult to practice it. Today at work a woman asked me where am from I said Enmore (my suburb) shae said you background I said from Cyprus. another woman said Greek or Turkish I said Cyprus, when she pressed a little more I replied I am from Cyprus and I speak Greek. She then said her fiance' is Turkish. When I left I said to her please say hello to your partner from another Cypriot, there are not many of us. She smiled. If we all did this every day and people let go of the notion that we are either one or the other slowly perceptions will change.

As far as you putting blame on both leaders go right ahead am sick and tired of laying blame on them on my own. Papadopoulos has proven through his stuborness that he is not able to pull the show together he had 5 years and all he has done is refuse to accept Talat. Now taliking about sulking Talat is refusing to meet with Papadopoulos, and you know if this was a game of cards I'd say good on Talat for refusing, but it is not. People's lives are at stake here. Perhaps some Turkish speakers will say we are standing for what we believe, well that is fine if you are a high income earner and have the option of educting your kid in Britain, but what if your not?

Perhaps the future President of Cyprus can start dealing with Talat and fuck Turkey off. Perhaps the next president and I have doubts if it is going to be Papadopoulos will invite Turkish speaking Cypriots to join the Government to represent Turkish speaking Cypriots living in the Republic. I believe there is a woman politician who speaks Turkish one is not enough.

Perhaps am too idealistic or lived in a multicultural community with Turkish neighbours and I see them as human beings but going back 33 years HAS Not gotten anyhere and It will not get us anywhere.

Perhaps it is up to Cypriots abroad to join together (those who wish of course bye bye to Zan I guess) write petitions to both sides of the fence seeking peace and unification and leave it up to the individual community to critisize their own representatives.

Believe it or not it sadens me to know that part of my people (and I know many of you would say your the enemy and that is fine if tht is your view) are missing out on the richess shared by the RoC. At the same time I can appreciate that is people's choice for one or another reason..

Thanks for your response Humanist. The points you have raised are truly valid, except the fact that educating the future generation is a tad more difficult than you suggest. It could work eventually, but politicians need to act swiftly before a point of no return is reached.

I wonder when ENOSIS was sought?????

Enosis was always sought by the Cypriots Zan until 1960.

you are wrong my dear friend.
even now on the walls u can see EOKA,ENOSİS slogans.pls don't tell me that after 1960 we could not see. i can prove it for u.

You're wrong my friend. A few kids might have written some graffiti because of their football team ideals....what would be the point. We have ENosis with Greece now as we speak. We are part of the same European Union.

If Someone came up on tv and said i support enosis and am starting a political party he would get as much votes as Rauf running for president over here.

DT dear friend,
i saw those writings after 1974.still some writings are exsisting on the greek cypriots houses in the north cyprus.
thats why i told u that they were their after 1960.
i am not going to prove anything to u .but pls give correct information.we are still living in this planet.we have to tell truth by hiding something it will not help at all.

HAlil, if you read my first post regarding this i say the "Cypriots stopped seeking enosis after 1960. I don't consider a few hundred mercenary traitors in 74 that wanted enosis as representing the entire island of cyprus.

Your mindset of thinking that we here in cyprus seek enosis is backward and needs to get updated. Enosis is a past objective of the GC's. It is ridiculous to even think about anything like that now. We are a legitimate, internationally recognised government and proud member of the EUropean Union. Enosis and Taksim is solely reserved for 4-5 geriatric GC's and your entire administration, strategy and policies.

DT,
İ am glad to hear that Enosis is death...... For me Taksim is also death.
İt is not my policy my dear friend. The PAPA doesn't left anything with his policies. The way he acts Turkish Cypriots are going away my dear friend.
pls open your eyes.İt will be too late !!!!!

Making petitions will not solve the problem H! TCs have voted for the best party and leader to that effect - both of whom desire and strive for a unified island in preference to partition. TCs also have got over any religious fanaticism, and are not preached hatred by the imams. Can GCs say the same about TP and the Greek Orthodox Church?

Voting for the right leaders to do the negotiation and avoiding religious fanatical preachings would be a way forward. :D
