Lena, sorry for the late response, just got home from work. I might have heard some old folks also calling it Ichli Kefte but not sure. I really want to learn to cook all these dishes as I think they are on the 'endangered foods' list.

That namw can have two meanings: ! the kofte with 'something' inside
or lataral thinking the kofte with a 'heart'. 1st is more correct. The second is my imagination. hat food is still driving me nuts.
Andreas, I believe you will be visiting my neighbourhood soon. If you let me know before you arrive I will make for you the best lekhmajunes you have ever tasted.
BTW there is a place in Larnaca which specializes in koupes and lekhmajunes. It is called Maklavs and it's on Thessaloniki street in the suburb of Drosia. Preety good but not as good as mine.

Kafenes, thank you so much, that is a lovely offer and I will take you upon it. I will be showing a Canadian friend who lives in London teaching Arheology/ Anthropoly at the University College of London around Paphos sometime betwween 17-23 October. It will be good for him to experience the friendship and hospitality of Cyprus.
However what I would appreciate more is for you to tae us to Instinjio, I would like to visit Bir's birth place. If it is convenient for you and your family.
cheers
Andreas
