I suppose it depends on how far you send it but I would think it is probably as easy to drop it onto a disc and post it. I am not too sure how much you can compress it using Winzip or Winrar but probably not enough to e-mail it.

What format is it in (I don't just mean avi or mov, but the compression codec used)?

You could burn it as a data file onto a DVD blank. Depending on the format, it may be convertible to an mpeg-2 and burnt as a video DVD. If it is a highly compressed format, such as DivX, Xvid, swf or WMV,, you may have some difficulty converting it, as the reconstitution of all the missing data is very difficult and time consuming; also the quality may not be too good.

Without knowing a lot more, no one can reaaly give you precise instructions.

Best way is to write it on a DVD and post it. Another way is to send it through the internet but if you have a usual Cyprus broadband line with 128Kbits upload then it will take at least a whole day to go!

Yeah, and not exactly a nice surprise for the guy on the other end :) Although almost definitely faster than what you got here (miss my 10mbit line.... :( ).

Other method, if you want to send a nice gift that can be used again (not counting DVD-RWs) or don't have DVD-R facilities, is to bung it on a cheap memory card or USB stick. Slightly annoying with the size of the file (as you would need a 2gb one), but assuming you aren't already using the best compressed video standard then you can probably get it to fit on a 1gb card. And they are as cheap as chips now. Also nice because as a gift the person can use them for other things in the future. And unlike DVD-RWs are nice and portable.

Pixmania deliver to Cyprus (if you order from the Cyprus site - Note is Greek language only, but maps almost directly to UK version) and they do pretty good deals.

Cheers

Current UK retail price for a 2GB memory stick is £14.99 (sterling) from Staples and many other suppliers. How much are they in Cyprus?
