Why participating here?????

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Why participating here?????

Plenty of head movement, lots of noise at the slightest interference and nothing constructive when the meeting is over, except for the heaps of shite they leave behind.

Even worse when they are pissed !!.

Depends for what reason you are participating in this forum Eliko?
Which are your reasons?

I personally participate mainly to let my views out, hoping (just hoping) that those who move the strings on both sides, may get some ideas towards a solution. I believe such forums do have a "thinking tank deposit" not much, but good enough.

I have lots of other reasons, but that's the main one.

Pyrpolizer, I was not making any kind of comparison to any of the members contributing to the thread, unfortunately we have to depend on the outcome of the political meetings for any resolution to the problems discussed here and abouts.

For as long as it suits THEM, there will be no solution and it makes little difference what we may think or wish for, the politicians prefer the ordinary folk to be at each others throats, such a situation ensures their position.

I certainly meant no offence to any member and do opologize if it appears so. Best wishes. :)

I don't think anybody was ofended Eliko, but lets say what others have to say about their participation here.

Well I haven't been to politics myself and don't really know how those people climb that ladder. A couple of old classmates became Ministers lately, i remember them as kids one was leader in school union the other was messing in syndicalism. Other than that nothing extra-ordinary they weren't even rich, I wouldn't say they were paRTICULARLY CLEVER, THEY LIKED SOCIALISING AND KNOWING LOTS OF PEOPLE THOUGH AND BE FRIENDS WITH EVERYONE.

iMO pOLITICIANS (AT LEAST IN cYPRUS) DON'T SEEM TO BE different than ordinary people, so why you just blame them?

Pyrpolizer, I confess that I have an absolute dislike for politicians, the reason for my opinion of them is rooted in the fact that I have seen and suffered the consequences of their chicanery, the basic qualities of a politician seem to be the ability to lie with a smile on the face, Tony Blair is a classic recent example of such (in my opinion).

Jokes are made of their deceitful characters, how often have you heard the expression (when suspected of lying) "Oh, you ought to be a politician !", how often the statement that the country is ruled by 'Peers, Queers and Racketeers ?'

How often have you heard them (almost jokingly) inform you that vast amounts of public money have been wasted ?, surely, as a tax-payer, you should be entitled to claim such money back don't you think ?.

If you have ever observed the traditional 'High Profile' meetings of politicians at the 'Guildhall' in London, you will see such table manners as would disgrace a pig-sty, there they sit, stuffing their faces on choice fare, discussing poverty and starvation in what they term as 'Third World Countries'.

THAT is why I condemn them, they have assumed the position of dictators yet cunningly gull the general public into believing that they are representing them.

Those few, who may be genuinely concerned with the well being of their fellow man, are soon sucked into the abyss of political decadence, if they resist, they will not last long.

THAT is my perception of politicians, we have only to look at the amount of hatred that exists in the world today, analyse the root causes and THINK about it, the truth will soon become apparent.

I have never met an ordinary person who does not want to live in PEACE, I have never met a politician who could not find an excuse for WAR

Best wishes to you, good luck Always. :)

Eliko, I share your views and frustration on the quality of posts and also the hatred and discrimination that comes accross from members.

I personally joint in hope that I would be talking with Cypriots who are proud to be that and who want to see our country unified. Unfortunately that is not my experience. Sure there are a couple of individuals here and there but in general I feel disilussioned. I have also decided that there is no point in trying to converse with someone who holds toattally different views to mine. So I am learning to hold back from those conversations.

Perhaps it is my paranoia but I do believe this forum is monitored by powerful people and therefore hope that they take some things on board that may change the situation on the Island that I love very much and the one I want to see UNIFIE and its people living in harmony.

humanist, thank you for your views, IF, as you say, powerful people are monitoring this forum, perhaps they should consider a small point.

In the overall scheme of things, we are less than microbes on a grain of sand.

Goodnight and God Bless you one and all.

Ah but a grain of sand is what is needed to support the earth, my friend. It is just as important as the moon and the sky an every other star in the sky that make up the universe as is.

Thank you very much much for the blessings. God does watch over me each and evry moment and I am greatful for that. Gods blessings right back at you and your family.

BTW I do believe they are monitoring this forum as every other forum on the planet,
