Hello Pyro, enter the old faithful Nasredin Hodja:

The neighbour asked to borrow Hodja's washing line. Hodja was in a bad mood. He said "no". The man asked Hodja "why?". Hodja answered "because my wife has hung up FLOUR on the washing line". The neighbour asked, "how on earth do you hang up FLOUR on a washing line?". Hodjas answer was "if you do not want to lend the washing-line, then it is possible to hang FLOUR on it!"

Oh well, I thought it was funny

Regards DA

Hello Gumbares: Arent you in bed yet? At last I managed to set up my new LT. Luckily for me they detected traces of water in the old one. I was about to buy a new one when they suggested I contact my insurance company. Lo and behold they offered me a brand new one. Not my choice, as I had my heart set up on a new Sony Viao. They offered me an ACER 6460. I cant complain. Bigger memory and much faster. Still undecided whether I should use the "finger print" option. It took me a while to set up the WiFi but I got there in the end. I am back and so much has happened on the forum with new entries.
I will go to bed soon, my eyes are so tired. Been reading the posts non-sto since lunchtime. There is so much more to read.

Well aren't you lucky for getting a new one! I wouldn't go for the slimline Sony, it wins in looks but there's just too much heat sandwiched in there!

Well, as I said, I've got the Acer and I'll stick to it untill Ann waters her flowers again. (she is number one suspect for the demise of good old Dell; Laptop widow and all that!)
Regards to all and G'night again!

No, seriously, after using the old one I may have been too lazy to get up and place it on my desk, so I usually place it on its side on the floor leaning against a side cabinet. On which she has indoor plants. I suspect that one day whilst watering the plants something fatal happened. But either it was you or Lena suggested it might have been condensation. Well alls well that ends well. At least I knew the value of regularly backing my work up.
I am definitely going to bed now
Na-night, and you can count your "bleesed hand-grenades"

I think that was funny too,Deniz kardash.......which reminded me the similar story.....................Hodja's neighbour came and asked if he could borrow his donkey for a few hours...Often in a bad mood (existential angst I wonder  ) Hodja told the neighbour that his donkey was out running an errant with his son...As the man turned to leave the donkey started braying thunderously from the back yard..."Shame on you,Hodja...I never thought a holly man would lie like you just did" said the neighbour."The real shame is on you," bellowed Hodja,"for believing a donkey's word over mine"..... :D

We need Hodja Nasreddin quickly to put some sanity into our little Cyprus problem...

Thanks BK, I remember that one very well. In the UK I am constantly quoting from the Hodja. His didactic stories rival ancient greek philisophers discourses easily, and less boring as well.
