Shit happens when you go round sticking your nose in other country's business... look at you now! You've gone from being a colonial power to a bunch of cockroaches running around a septic tank.

Shitty days are par for the course in the UK these days,I am lucky,I live in a small village in Lincolnshire where not much goes on most of the time.I did live in Cyprus a while ago,but the lack of any work for hubby reluctantly forced our return. We enjoyed our time in Cyprus, met some lovely people(both Cypriot and British and other nationalities) and also some ar--ho--s(again both Cypriot,British and others). This will happen wherever in the world you go,the trick is to embrace the good and try to avoid the bad.I miss Cyprus and hope one day to be able to return(when we have more money)but in the meantime, I will appreciate the good things about the UK and try and ignore the bad. I have noticed so much bitterness creeping in to this forum since I joined last year, and find it very saddening.

I lost it in Larnaca and probably it fallen from my bag....stupid me i wanted a small one...anyway a policeman found it and I went back to get it in the evening. Money was in there and the rest of my stuff ... the bad thing it was that i canceled my cards but tomorrow I guess I will get new ones.

Everything i said was in Cyprus...so I might have a bad day here as well...but you are right even bad days might look not that bad ... a friend of mine ask me how I could laugh about it ... but hey shit happens. :D
Society has collapsed. The UK is a sorry state of affairs. Government and parents are tp blame. No discipline, no after school activities, too many asylum seekers, no time for anyone anymore. Miserable place....Glad I left!!!!
Hi Twinkle, Personally I blame Esther Rantzen and her child-line. In the '80's everytime my friend told his daughter off, she immediately evoked the child-line phone number. Surely this was the root of all our problems. Too many do-gooders, doing too much good without thought of the consequences.
