The funny thing is that the people from this group were are all BORN & RAISED in Cyprus, were excellent specimens of the typical "horiatis" of Cyprus, and yet once they had spent a few years, or decades, in England seem to be convinced that they have acquired British Royal Blood in their veins!

A typical characteristic of this weird bunch is that they LOVE to criticize Cyprus, put down the Cypriot people, and adore the "west"! They LOVE to go on about how "small" and "insignificant" the Cypriots are and probably have premature ejaculations running down their pants when they talk about how mighty the "US" or "Britain" is and always include themselves as if they are a part of it!

I've always been puzzled by this bizarre phenomenon and have named it the "Royal Horiatis Syndrome"!

Are you familiar with this phenomenon and do you suspect any forum member suffering from it?

Talking about your self again GR ? You missed out one major characteristic ! They all think they are Gods' Gift to women !! They are usually quite mediocre in stature and looks and yet fancy them selves as Don Juan's ! You are not one of them are you ?

On a serious level , may I say what a crappy post you have just made !!

Ask your self stupid , ""premature ejaculations " What the fuck are you on about dumbo.

Can you relate to this description Miltiades? Is this why you’re getting upset? Have we pulled the snake out of its hole???

Here’s another little test to see if you’re a sufferer of the "Royal Horiatis Syndrome"…

When you come for holidays to Cyprus do you by any chance...

1. Wear “business” shorts with white socks and brown sandals
2. Always carry a black or brown wallet-like leather bag for all your paperwork and money.
3. Have some gold teeth.
4. Wear a "gold" wrist watch.
5. Wear a ruby "attika".

Spot On Matey . But I will bet you something kid . Standing next to me might just highlight your shortcomings and feel somewhat suicidal , you see Im exactly what you aspire to be but will never make it. I also drive a Lambo , the diabolical type , only when when I feel frisky !! No gold watch though , and I never carry money , all my teeth are fully paid for , couldn't afford the gold , and dont do white socks. Tell you what son , lets shake hands make up and meet me at Kourion beach on Saturday , will buy you a soda !!

Eliko wrote:free_cyprus, to get back on topic ,I would like to mention that I know of many Cypriots of advancing years who were either dis-possessed (and chose to reside in the UK) or went there to escape the disharmony in their own homeland.

I do not know of any one of them who does not share the same opinion regarding the interference of the UK/US in the awful events which led to the division of their country.

It is indeed a strange phenomenon to recognise that there may be some of those who migrated, ready and willing to abandon their own 'ROOTS' and embrace the society of they who destroyed their own.

I believe the general term of 'TURNCOAT' is an apt description of such people, they are to be pitied since they have substituted their identity for a lesser one.

They are under the impression that their new country is 'Helping' less fortunate nations, they are oblivious to the fact that the generosity they exhibit abroad is paid for at the expense of themselves.

The people of the UK have become downtrodden by successive governments and yet STILL have the capacity to consider themselves superior to those of us who value our freedom.

THAT is the real phenomenon............................. In my humble opinion. :)

Impudence with you is a virtue , a characteristic generally associated with narcissist tendencies of " Adonian " proportions , fancying ones self and considering how dapper they are. You have shown utter contempt for 250 thousand Cypriots , repudiated the efforts of those Cypriots who carry the torch for Cyprus year on year and have expressed the wisdom associated with half wits , of introducing into the Cyprus arena mercenaries to get Turkey out of Cyprus. This from a man that , as I said above , considers impudence a virtue. Carry on watching the grass grow , you are harmless this way.

Nothing wrong with that. Being grateful to the country and the people that helped you stand on your feet when your own country and people couldn't shows integrity of character. How would you feel if you saw immigrants in Cyprus express anti-Cypriotness while benefiting from everything the government offers them? I believe the real "Horiates" are the people who, although they've spent a good part of their life in England and took advantage of it's pro-immigrant policy, are still fanatically anti-British.
