I said you acted like a nationalist Greek and not that you were one.
Every one of our civilian dead that lies in marked or somewhere in unmarked graves gives us the right and the responsibility to do so mate so we will go on doing it until the "RoC" is dissolved and a new constitution is put together with us or we are living in our own recognised state. You are so quick to dismiss the wrongs against us but cry wolf at every twist and turn of the Greek suffering. I just want you to be more balanced but you cannot afford that to your own people. Have a read of our history again since 63 and then again and again....
You are not the "gatekeeper" of all the sufferings of the TC's, all by yourself Zan. I have experienced the events in 1963 and lost family members also. Often I write the suffering of all Cypriots in my many posts and by no means do I dismiss the TC's dead and only acknowledge the GC's suffering. I don't know how you can write the things you do sometimes with a straight face. I'm one of very few people on the forum that speaks the truth as I see it. I do not have very much information on what goes on with the GC's, so I rely on others to bring their information forward, so I talk about our affairs which you take it as being anti TC which cannot be further away from the truth. It may be things that you do not want to hear or accept, but that's another story, and if I inadvertently make a false claim or make a mistake, I'm always ready to apologize for my mistake, but that should not stop me from speaking about anything that has to do with the TC's, because in a free society we should be able to hold people accountable to what they do.
And celebrating Makarios and EOKA and Independence of the "ROC" is going to promote peace and harmony.
Whether we like it or not, Makarios was elected 1st President of Cyprus, so he is in History books no matter how he acted during his term. George Washington was also the 1st President of the USA and was also a slave owner, and he has his day for celebration. Correctly, it will be changed to "Presidents Day" soon, so that not one president is mentioned by name. I hope the same will be done in Cyprus.
EOKA-A can be valid, for fighting against the British rule, which may have helped in the long run by establishing the "TRNC".
If it's for EOKA-B, then I stand with you on this one and condemn it.
Again, a true Independence from the British which both the TC's and the GC's achieved in 1960 should be celebrated by all Cypriots. Until another Constitution is written, that's the only legal piece of paper we have, whether we like it or not. If and when we do have another Constitution, then there wont be any more Independence Day, but what the Swiss have, a National Day.
If you look very hard into what I write, you can finds things that will rub you or any other partitionist the wrong way. Try to look beyond your desire to be right all the time and read what is written and don't jump to conclusions to have an argument. I'm just having a "conversation" here and expressing my ideas, concerns and wishes. They are not meant to make you or anyone else happy all the time. I don't even make myself happy all the time with what I write, because it is not easy to write things that I know, I will get an earful from certain people. Would you be happier if no one ever contradicted what ever the TC's did and I just wrote exactly what you wanted to hear, whether I was being sincere or not.??
I said you acted like a nationalist Greek and not that you were one.
I know what you meant Zan.!!!
