Too many foreigners in Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby bigOz » Thu Aug 02, 2007 12:40 pm

I think what is confusing the whole issue here is not being able to differentiate between criticising Bush's foreign policies and supporting terrorists.

I have been in the past accused by others in another forum of being a terrorist for criticising the original invasion and continuing presence of UK and US military in Iraq. Then again my best supporter was a US attorney from San Fransisco!

People should stop interpreting things simply as black and white, but look into the real message when considered within the detailed context of an issue. :D

oh you had a point?....all I saw was a load of racist diatribe by someone who is obviously less than intelligent

Edman, welcome to the forum and also welcome to Cyprus where I believe you are about to make your home.

The comments I made regarding the mixture of nationalities in the UK are certainly NOT racist.

The point I was illustrating was in fact a fairly good representation of the events which took place in the past.

The UK has interfered in the politics of many nations, it has presented itself as a dependable ally, a source of great advantage and an asset to those nations.

In order to qualify it's claims, it described itself as the 'Mother Country' and encouraged the influx of immigrants over a number of years.

The situation is now quite grave in the UK since the indigenous population are being squeezed financially in order to underwrite the promises made to them by the politicians of those times.

The end result is what you now see and are apparently experiencing yourself, disharmony, intolerance, racial prejudice and a host of other unacceptable issues.

Hence my comment, the chicks are returning to a 'Mother' who does not want them, times have changed and the people of other nations have begun to realise just what damage has been done to THEIR homelands, I doubt if they will be too concerned at what damage they now do to YOURS.

I'm sorry Edman, I just can't say I blame them for opening their eyes a little, I am certainly NOT a racist I assure you. :)

Because we are behaving like spoilt brats and we are always on the lookout to find other people (preferably foreigners) to lay the blame for our shortcomings, I tried to catalogue the countries which play the same game game as us. It occurred to me after listening to Omirou claim that the "international factor" is machinating incessantly against the "Hellenism of Cyprus". We have heard similar cries from:

1. The ayatollahs of Iran
2. Saddam Husein of Iraq
3. The Talliban of Afganistan
4. Gadaffy of Libya

To the above we can add President Papadopoulos and his supporters who in so doing, in order to win obscure internal points, have brought to a zero our credibility in the EU, the UN and the international political arena in general.

The greatest service Papadopoulos can do for his country is to go home rather than seek the top job for another five years. True, his relatives, koumparoi etc will be looking for hard to find jobs, but this is a small price to pay next to the fast approaching partition through Kosovo-isation of the occupied parts, as the new Foreign Minister Erato Markoulli has warned and the governement confirmed via Vasilis Palmas, the Spokesman (who's wife has as uncle, you know who!)

I agree with the list of countries with whom we ....share so much !!
We love them all and support them whenever possible , in the interests of Cyprus of course !! The list of the nations above is a formidable one , may I suggest that GR , apart from enlisting the help of the Blackwater mercenaries , also procures some of these nations' "crack" divisions to assist us in getting Turkey out of Bernard Matthews farms !!!!!

Chrisdemetriou, I take it that as you do not live in Cyprus as you said that you were on holiday here? So in actual fact YOU are also a foreigner living in another country are you? Then you visit Cyprus and complain about foreigners??? As for "Turks" lounging around everywhere, I think you made this up - I have crossed at Ledra Palace many times and have NEVER come across this. This is a very similar post to one made by someone last year who said that Kyrenia was FULL of headscarved women begging in the streets - total and utter rubbish. This is a racist post from a hypocrite in my opinion.

Eliko. Thank you for your welcome both to the boards and Cyprus

Having read a number of your posts on this forum I would say you are at the very least anti English(if not racist)and this becomes apparent when you talk of "chicks coming home to roost" with obvious delight. What I would ask you though is; At what stage in history were Bulgaria, Poland Russia, Romania and other former eastern block countries under British rule?....Never? and yet these are the "chicks" now coming to Britain.(now in as great a number as the Asians) Could I ask have you ever visited the UK or even met someone from there? Because it seems to me you have gained your dislike of us from books and news reports.
