Are Greek Cypriots doing anything to help the peace process?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Are Greek Cypriots doing anything to help the peace process?

Postby BelloTurco 2007 » Mon Jul 30, 2007 7:53 pm

İ am a new member. İ was wondering what Greek Cypriots are doing to help with the peace process. We all know that Turkish Cypriots voted yes to the Anan Plan and Greek Cypriots voted no. We all know they did this beacuse Greek Cyprus is recognised by the İnternational Community and lets face it because of this Greek Cypriots will always have the upper hand.

When İ think of North Cyprus İ think of another persucated group of people called Palestinians. And when İ think of Greek Cypriots İ think of another group of bullys - the people of İsreal. Yet even in İsreal there are groups of Jews who know that bullying a weaker people is wrong and so they fight for Palestian rights. What İ am wondering is whether there are any Greek Cypriots who realise that persecuting Turkish Cypriots and placing embagoes on them and rallying the whole world to hate them is wrong? İf so are any of these Greek Cypriots doing anything to highlight Turkish Cypriots rights and therefore bringing peace a step closer? İs there an organisation out there that has been formed to help Turkish Cypriots? İf not why don t you start one?

Thank you for the welcome. İ just look at the way the whole flexs it s muscle against such a small commnuity and it makes me sick. Northern Cyprus was promised things by the EU and the UN and still we haven t seen any delivered to us. There must be some Greeks out there that agree with me, right?

Your analogy is not very good. The Greek Cypriots do not have the military clout of the israelis. Not only this but it looks we are now paying for the intransigence of our President whom we hope to send home come next February.

Of course there are Greek Cypriots who support peace and a solution based on the political equality of the two communities. The past 5 years have been very difficult for us. We have been accused as paid traitors and have been stigmatised publicly. Have you heard of the "ambient atmosphere"?

Do us all a favour, being new as you are, just read ALL the posts and then come back and offer something new.

TC promised by the EU/UN, what things, you have invaded cyprus then you sing the victim tune. I don't think i want to give this any effort , bye bye.

You are welcome mind and any useful points of view would be welcome too, but an opening post like that, you are luck you are not in Turkey otherwise you might just get shot.

TC was promised direct flights to the İsland that is for starters! Turkey did n t invade the İsland it sent a peace keeping mission to stop a minority of people from being slaughtered out of existence. Or perhaps you deny the fact that innocent Turkish Cypriots were being killed? And as for your statement about me being shot in Turkey. You try to portray Turks as animals but anyone who has visited Turkey we know how wrong you are and how open to discussion Turks are. Your Grek Cypriot propaganda machine is coming to an end and when it does the whole world will know the truth.

A man makes a post and he is immediately branded an idiot. Typical of our GC friends. I hope we will all see who the idiots are soon. Not long to go now.

The Turkish Cypriots were CONNED into “direct flights” by the master-liars the British so take it up with them!

Turkey did n t invade the İsland it sent a peace keeping mission to stop a minority of people from being slaughtered out of existence.

The UN is the only recognized “peace keeping” force on the planet and that’s why they don’t throw napalm around.

Or perhaps you deny the fact that innocent Turkish Cypriots were being killed?

Indeed, but it is known as the “inter-communal conflict” not the “TC slaughter” as you seem to think.
