What I'm getting at is:

Being Cypriot is being proude of being from Cyprus

Not denying your other possible ancestry (Ecto Cypriot , Italian, etc.

Putting being Cypriot first before Greek or Turkish whatever your beliefs.

No more foreigne interference (including Greece or Turkey!)

Saying your Greek or Turkish only allows or gives power to Foreigners an excuse to intervine, etc!

Cyprus for the Cypriots!

NeoCypriot , welcome aboard mate , there are many of us on this forum , G/Cs and T/Cs who are wise enough and enlightened to see that our nation is what the entire world recognises as CYPRUS , the home of the Cypriots , not a Greek or Turkish province .I'm proud to be first and most importantly a true Cypriot that has no qualms embracing my fellow Cypriots and calling them brothers and sisters whether T/Cs Armenians or G/Cs.

VP , you have said this before . You can not dismiss the international community neither can you pretend that the views of those that want their birth country ( Appreciate it isnt yours ) re united as nonsense. Cyprus will eventually unite whether you or any one else likes it. Our island has been occupied by many foreign invaders. You and those that live in a fools paradise will one day realize that that this land is Cyprus not Turkey , and for the Greek hot heads , not Greece . US , THE CYPRIOTS WILL ONE DAY RECLAIM OUR LANDS .

Some people here, I wont name who, are so fixed in their chauvinist world vew that they cannot even allow for the probability that things might not be as they interpret. Perhaps Cyprus has managed to achieve some CYPRIOT goals, even if they were not defined as such in the national consciousness at the time. Examples? Knocking out the British, neutralising the Greeks, to the point that they are no longer interested in Cyprus. This leaves Turkey last, and then Cypriots are home to a Cypriot Cyprus.

It is unwise to underestimate the resilience and toughness of a people that has managed to survive a millenium of seccessive conquests to re-emerge as an equal among equals in the twentieth century.

Ice Man has posted the book of John Thomson, Through Cyprus with the Camera in another thread on the Forum. The observations Thomson records about the "native peasantry" will enlighten those in here who cannot see and discern the survival talents of Cypriots. The 33 years of partial conquest and occupation are nothing compared to what Cyprus endured in the past. They will pass! Read the story of Lambousa and you will see how it happened before and how it was overcome before.

Before you read my posts take a look at Ice Mans postings of photos from Cyprus in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They tell a LOT about us and how far we have come in a short time.
