miltiades, you raise a very interesting point when you mention paedophiles.

I have noticed that you very often DO make a point of condemning them in several of your responses.

Since they have never been the subject of any post I can remember, I wonder why you do so.

Psychologists generally agree that people who strongly (and persistently) condemn a certain human trait, whether it be stealing, swearing, acting immorally and a host of other issues, do in fact conceal a hidden desire to participate in such actions themselves.

I wonder therefore (bearing in mind that you do seem to be overly emphatic in your abhorrence to such) if you are trying to suppress such feelings in yourself ?.

I understand it is quite common among older men, nothing to be afraid of if kept in check, certainly better not talked about so often, would you agree on that point ?.

Another example of a maciated individual. I was right in sussing you out from the beginning although your artful concealment of your inadequacies
on occasions had me wondering. In fact I thought at one stage that you were a woman and utterly infactuated with me. More moderation and more bans is something that we could do.

What is difficult and would require a lot more time from our part is to enforce the rules in a perfectly uniform way. Doing so would require me to read every single post or having moderators who are trained to understand and enforce the rules in a uniform way.

What is impossible is to apply the rules in a way that everybody believes is fair. As Lana said it is impossible to please everybody.

The above two issues are the reasons I prefer the "light touch" approach that Lana talked about.

If any members, however, PM me with a specific complaint then I examine that specific case carefully and I take the necessary measures. The members that believe that more moderation is necessary are encouraged to do this.

I think that every one should have manners and try to take on board what other people are saying in order to have a sound debate . One or two members seem to use every thread to attack the morals and culture of other people and yet fail to disclose their own background . I joined the forum to educate myself about a place where my wife wants us to live and although I been there many times I have found the people fantastic though I have found the politics complicated . I find it strange to come on the forum and be insulted because of where I am from or because I disagree with murder .

There was a time on the forum when I believed that if all people are courteous to each other then there shouldn’t be a problem until I met people like Miltiades, Murataga, Chapfallen, Free-Cyprus, and perhaps a few others I don’t recall right now.
