Solution will never come unless...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Solution will never come unless...

Turkey has something to GAIN.

Turkey imo does not give a shit about the Tcs. It just holds a trump card, knows very well how much it costed her to get it, knows very well it costs while holding it.

But will never give it up unless she GAINS something substantial.

i agree 100% Pyrpolizer the only way there will be a solution is if the island became all cypriot and the turks go to turkey or if the turks come and take the rest of it.. thers to much hate between the two sides and turkey will never budge they keep taking and never give back

Dito Pyro, I think entry into the EU is substantial don't youand all the benefits that will come with it. 80,000,000 hungry mouths is a huge thing.

Perhaps solution will come if we accept these fine words

"As by knowing one lump of clay, dear one,
We come to know all things made out of clay -
That they differ only in name and form,
While the stuff of which all are made is clay; .........
So through spiritual wisdom dear one,
We come to know that all life is one."
The Chandongya Upanishad
Sacred Moments (Lynda Popov) Through the eyes of wisdom I see all life as one.

The problem with Turkey is that she is penny wise and pound foolish.

You offer her EU membership and she doesn't think much of it because the gains seem too far away but if you were to offer her the latest cruise missile she'd go ballistic! (pun intended)

It's like giving a teenager a choice between a $1,000 investment fund over three years or $100 cash and the kid would probably opt for the latter…

Fc would you let us talk shit without you shitting in every topic? Thank you.

Let's start from what Turkey would gain with the Anan Plan:
-19 years military presense gradually deteriorating from 40,000 troops to 650 permanent small basis.During the first 10 years Turkey would be a dominant military master here, for all eventualities.
-Get rid of all past crimes/responsibilities on her settlers, financial claims at EU court etc.
-Get a protectorate state.
-Look nice at the outside world and clear one of the main obstacles towards her EU road.

What is Turkey going to GAIN TODAY in a solution?
Imo the Gcs will not accept any of the above GAINS other than the removal of the obstacle to her EU road, which road does not seem to have a definite end.

So why would Turkey even consent to Talat to start negotiation under ANY terms, or under the 8th July agreement?
Nothing would happen unless
a)Turkey gets a definite/clear GAIN
or
b) Turkey is oblidged to forget about Cyprus for bigger GAINS elsewhere on exchange of those in Cyprus (e.g at the Aegean or at Kirkuk)
or
c) Turkey is oblidged to forget about GAINING from Cyprus , otherwise she will LOSE elsewhere.

So far a and b are not in the horizon.

The only thing that WAS, was Turkey's opening of EU chapters. And even for that, Papadopoulos screwed up without getting anything in return.

They seem to have solved it through the eyes of Makarios and Samson FC.
The concensus amoung all of those GCs that want us to unite and live as one, is that we, the TCs, are not even Cypriots and therefore deserve the second class status that they have reserved for us. The special conditions mean that there will be no reporting of any violence carried out against us and if there is then it will be lost on page 27 of the news papers. I am sure they can think of a few more things to suppress us with but I will leave that to them.

Shame the whole time that we were being told that we were not Cypriots niether Birkibrisli or Kikapu chose to join in the party. Perhaps they think they are not Cypriots either?????

On the contrary Zan, I made it be known, that I'm a Cypriot because the names of my parents are Mr. and Mrs. Amoeba.

As for the rest of the conversation on who is a Cypriot and who is not was some what pointless conversation to add anything. Besides, the subject was on who is Indigenous and who is not, and not about who was a Cypriot and who was not, I believe.

We are all Cypriots, No..?????
