Does the sign mention that the cod is from the Cyprus waters?
If it said 'the best coffee in the world' would it mean the coffee beans were grown in Cyprus?
If you looked closely at the menu, it would say whether it's fresh or frozen.

What I meant was that on a holiday to most of the Greek Islands (I'm aware that this is Cyprus) they accomodate the brits to a certain extent and that means that fish and chips on a menu will be a locally caught fish and if they moan about it tough, and they do moan i have heard them, but so what if you want cod stay at home, but Paphos seems to pamper to them.

Fish is hard to come by in the med - as there is a lack of plankton for them to feed on. The majority of fish for hotel restaurants (exotics like tuna, swordfish etc) is imported.
