It is the revenue that was obtained from the 'Gold Mines', the Diamonds and other precious commodities that made 'Great Britain'.
Since there are no such valuable minerals in the country, they must have been obtained elsewhere, you can bet that the 'Source Country' was treated to the usual 'Handful of Beads' exchange rate.
Those countries have now woken up, they are aware of the fact that they were robbed, ASK THEM.
Eliko you are stating the obvious regarding minerals etc, The top 4/5% made the money. My Wifes family lived and worked in a mining community and were means tested in the 1920s depression, back to back houses, four houses sharing an outside toilet, when we came to Cyprus in 1966 it was the first time both myself and my Wife had a kitchen and a Bathroom.
My Wifes parents still used an outside toilet until 1994 and up until then they didn't have the luxury of a bathroom either, my own parents didn't have an inside toilet or bathroom until the mid 1970s. so don't tell me that we exploited the world tell the people who really benefited.
The 'Great' in Great Britain refers to the British Isles as in 'United Kingdom' not greatness as a former world power.
