its also because of greece coming to overthrow makarios en giving the turks excuse to take cyprus and split it in two...

Greece was under a junta, the Greek "government" was illegal and did as their US bosses instructed. When they fell, every single one of them was made to pay for their treason. What about the EOKA B scum who in fact carried out the coup? You know, I was surpised to find out that Sampson was quite popular with many Cypriots...
