Hi Again...sorry but another question
We have over the years collected a fine selection of XO (apparently quality) brandy. We are moving to Cyprus at the end of the year and no matter how hard we try, we are unable to consumed all that we have
So my question is...can we bring this to Cyprus with us...maybe included with our shipment of furniture!

I ask because I thought as we are unable to bring alcohol into the country when visiting, that it was forbidden to bring it at all!!!!

If this is the case, then we will just have to try harder to consumeit

I have no Problem
I just do not know if they check what you ship over, and as I said, thought that you could not bring certain items like alcohol!!!

Don't know what the laws are, but I used to buy duty free alcohol at Luton/Heathrow/Gatwick airport when I used to come over on holiday and always went through customs without a problem.

I guess it also depends on the quantity you have to bring in?

I only ask the question, because when I came over in both February and March, I was informed at Gatwick that I was not allowed to take any "Duty Free" into Cyprus. This was regardless of the quantity! (apparently because of the EU!!!) So I thought that if I tried to ship the bottles we have over with our furniture, then it would be checked when it arrived at Limassol customs, and either destroyed, taken away or whatever!!!
I don't know exactly what would happen, but we have only approx 12 bottles of expensive brandy that I would rather give away here than taken away at customs.

There is not Duty Free across the EU any more which is why you can’t buy duty free goods at the airport when you are on your way.

I don’t think you’d have a problem with 12 bottles of brandy at customs…

within the limit allowed to bring.. how much alcohol are u allowed before they take it from u as u arrive in larnaka? or pafos they have the security and check random ppl
