I dont think the bold part is refering to date...what i understand from that is that 85% of the people do not know about the coup which happened on the 15th July...Most of them think everything started on 20th when turkey invaded...

Here's a little experiment you can do iceman to solve your query. Go to the General section of this forum. They are all persons who don't watch this section. Make a poll as to what happened on 15 July 74 and ask only GCs to vote.

I imply to you that either the poll was wrong, or the journalist who presented the results just messed things up by not telling he was referring to the exact date. These are the only 2 explanations I can give to such a weird result.

I thought of doing the poll for you but I don't know if you would agree with the way i would make it. So please make it yourself.

The GC's using this forum are educated enough to know the situation but they hardly reflect the GC populations view,so doing a poll here means nothing..
Accept the fact that your education system and propaganda mechanism does not serve justice when it comes to educating your people when it comes to realities of Cyprus problem.

Even if they did ask only 15 year olds and came up with the above result that would be proving my above point that your education system is not teaching your children everything...

Btw I totally disagree with you regarding the people who use the General chat section of this forum, which is THE SECTION I suggested you to make your poll.

Out of curiosity I will make it anyway.

Here's the poll. Later on we will ask those who voted yes to send us PM as to what happened. People participating in this section please do not vote. We consider you "too educated" to represent the average Cypriot peasant, who only knows how to eat and drink and shite .
