A friend of mine had the pool drained on the complex she was renting.

What a load of balls this one is - I belong to a Nicosia Hotels Fitness centre and they do not have a lifeguard on Duty in their indoor pool (just a sign saying swim at your own riks) - what makes them exempt?

Hi - What happened how was yours closed , and if they can close pools because of no lifeguards why does nobody else on the forum know about it , do you know what the fines are if you are caught using the pool without a lifeguard ?
And wont this effect the value of the apartments if the pool is out of bounds ?
its a bit of a worry !

Well it was not just the lifebguard issue i suppose, they had the pool built and running for a few years (before my time) then new laws came into force and they choose to close it. I had asked the landlord about it, he said they couldn't comply plus cost of a lifeguard would be an issue.

Why doesn't someone just call the health department?

just back from benalmadena spain and all the private complexs now have life guards on duty started last year i believe seems to work ok although it seems strange to have a guard on duty when some times no one in the pool but it is the law
