I have quite a few friends coming to Cyprus in September and I'm genuinely concerned about their safety on the roads in Cyprus. I want to give them a little guide to driving in Cyprus that is both humourous and useful.

Anybody got any pearls of wisdom?

Firstly they have to learn to drive while talking on the mobile and at the same time eating a sandwich and lighting a cigarette and shouting at the kids in the back sit. If they pass this test, then they have no worries. Oh almost forgot, they loose points for using the indicators while turning.

If you want them to blend in, teach them how to use the horn very well, be completely arrogant, and pretend they are the only car on the road
Also, make sure they have a huge ego, and think they are gods gift to earth

When on a roundabout always indicate right that way people will know you may decide to climb on the island in the middle.

If the idiot in front of you is driving too slow just drive up close, hoot, and when the driver looks at you through his rear view mirror, start pointing underneath his car as if he's got a problem. Naturally, the slow idiot pulls over and away you go... and don't forget to wave as you speed past.

hi if they drive for the person infront of them and behind them and at the same time watching both left and right they should be ok

eracles, tell your friends to keep a stiff upper lip, be ever vigilant and always keep a fool in front of them, it may not keep them totally out of danger but will certainly reduce their chances of an accident.
