Most importantly, if the traffic light turns red speed up and stand on your horn!

If you see a car 200 m ahead of you on the motorway suddenly brake for no apparent reason, slow down: there's a radar trap ahead!

The young drivers , 10- 18 years old must be the worst in universe .The exhibitionists manoeuvres and screeching of brakes in accord with intense acceleration in first gear thus ensuring that the maximum amount of noise is generated and unsophisticated heads are turned in total awe , are unique to Cyprus , some parts of the M.East and all of Africa.

The sad thing is that ALL Cypriot drivers consider themselves the best on the road.
They do not keep a safe distance and all without exception cross red lights eagerly awaiting for the change to green.
Along with smoking Cyprus ought to be recognised by the EU as the worst in Europe alongside Greece. In fact a new Cypriot national anthem should be written incorporating Driving and Smoking as the main characteristics of Modern Cyprus. An inclusion of Souvla , Halloumi and the all famous Cyprus Siergas ( popular donkey name - ask Get Real )
should enhance the new Cypriot national anthem and make it acceptable to both G/Cs and T/Cs !

Not really, you got plenty of spanners in the UK too. Normally they are 1.1 litre shopping trolleys with massive exhausts and bodykits, that sound like thunder, but are as fast as a someone on a skateboard. See http://www.barryboys.co.uk for a good rundown of British sheds. When I used to have a Scooby (proper fast car) in the UK you used to have them trying to burn you off from traffic lights and stuff. Heh, a 1.4 litre Focus could leave them behind. Is annoying though as it takes them bloody ages to get past where you live in their extremely loud bumper cars. At least proper fast cars are gone in an instant and aren't as loud.

And of course. Every bloke thinks they are the best on the road. Normally though in most other countries if you want to prove this then you apply the most concentration. Because if you crash in to anything, especially on a straight road with plenty of light (eg. day time), and good view all around, then you look like a tit. And that doesn't make you the best on the road. Here it seems if you shout at pedestrians for crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing and chat to your friend out of the side window, while ploughing into the back of a car on a straight road, then you are still the best! Was all his fault for stopping at a red light!

Yeah, it's laughable how many times someone in the left lane will be creeping forward on the red. Why do that? For starters you can normally get past them easily anyway (normally not a decent car doing this), and secondly they almost never then move to the right lane. So what, you just wanted to get to the next light *slightly* quicker, before stopping again. I mean it's not as if it's that big a place that you have to get somewhere quick. Try commuting around London every day. Every second lost navigating through the mass of cars is another sodding second spent at work. And they don't normally come near the amount of impatience you see here.

Cheers
