Majority rule means war.(An article from 1964)

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

garb do you really believe that the annan plan was a unification plan?

insan you speak of majority rule as something vile and contentful but it is the rule of law around the world, the ROC since 1967 has rejected enosis and since 1977 abondand majority rule,so really why do you keep bringing it up?

The whole world believed (including EU) this plan was a unification plan. The only ones who didnt were 76% of the Greek Cypriot population... Taksim is something different...

really and dose it matter what the whole world thinks?is the whole world going to live under that dreadful plan?i dont see the british and americans living under such a plan, even true federalist govt.such as switzerland and belgium dont have such bogus plans,t/c dont want a strong federal republic but a weak conferdation or ofcourse taksim that is still your second option.

dose it matter what the whole world thinks jimmy concerning the annan plan and who is the whole world exactly britain and america and turkey who supported the plan?and yes majority rule is the most common rule of law around the world.one has nothing to do with the other.if anything if your arguing that the we should care what the whole world thinks then we should also adopt what the whole world implements as well, correct?

Correct. If we are arguing that we should care what the world thinks, we should also apply the basic rule that the whole world implements.
Conversely, if we are arguing that we shouldn't care (as 76% of us did), we could also ignore their basic rule. Correct?
My view is that we can't use the 'world' only when it suits us. Like, when the UN votes on a resolution favourable to us, we love them. When they ask for something that we don't like, like telling them what kind of changes we want so they can help us solve the damn thing, they are plotting against us, and our love vanishes into thin air...

Erol once said he would rather be the person holding a flower in front of a tank in case of war. This phrase stuck in my mind, and I respect Erol. He said many times he is a pacifist (even in this very thread) so I think we should be careful to respect each others sensitivities in this forum -once we get to know them.

PS. I don't expect any respect for my "passions", but I appreciate people who can concentrate on my arguments rather than my "passions" and Erol is one of them. Mikkie is another one.

Metecyp perhaps you are right, I should be more clear. But my opinion is that people dont follow the discussions and just hung up from quotes. Again I ask you please go back to what I was referring. You will see that The "by staying poor" could not have any other meaning.

Anyway heres a repeatition with ammended parts
TC community knows how to struggle against difficulties even under the harshest circumstances.

By staying poor? Or by depending on others? When exactly did your community ever struggled and also succeeded economically? . Do you have a precedence? All your struggles so far ended at abandoning the place....

Do you think Turkish Cypriots are poor because of their choice?
