Does anyone remember Georges crisps from the 70's? Vile things as I recall. Now you have the Lays' crisps which are as good as Walkers.

Maybe Admin should start a Paid Commercial board. I think that ad is worth £50, don't you? Please PM him so that you can pay. :D

In 1966, my first trip tp London, I tasted crisps for the first timer. They were in a plain plastic bag with no brand on it and had a small salt bag inside. I used to love them until I discovered the chips from the fish and chip shop wrapped in the newspaper.

twinkle, I think the crisps with the blue salt bags were 'Smith's Crisps', they gave you the choice of salt or dry, the modern day versions are full of chemical additives, a wonder we are still alive.

The square tins in which the crisps were packed and distributed, became a useful household container for various other items (so I'm told), I believe my grandmother kept all the boot polishes in hers, happy days 'eh, Oh for the return of such days, doodle bugs, incendiary bombs, barrage balloons, such JOY !!!.
