Turkish Press

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Turkish Press

Postby humanist » Sun Jul 15, 2007 9:56 am

I love the way the Turkish Press is pushing propaganda. They are now claiming the RoC does not want to move forward with unification talks.

How does that work? Papadopoulos has agreed to meet with Talat. Talat is refusing and the RoC does not want to proceed with talks?

Can someone please help me understand? :? :? :?

The invite is 4.5 years to late and reeks election propaganda, nothing will come of it even if they do meet, Talat should not run when Papadop clicks his fingers.

On the contrary. He should have grabbed the opportunity to achieve progress ( a gain for his community) or expose Papadopoulos intranstigence in which case Papadopoulos would lose votes and perhaps the elections.

In fact THIS IS WHAT TALAT intended to o when he initially accepted.

Everybody knows he then invented the footbal match as an excuse when the order came from Ankara to postpone the whole thing until AFTER the elections in Turkey.

Rumors say the meeting will occur by late July.

Actually, PappaD and Talat did meet and I happen to have the transcript to that meeting.

I will post it when I have more time during the week.

It is called "PappaD and Talat Comedy Hour".

You can all print your own versions if you want.

Mine comes out Wednesday (I hope).

Everyone is entitled to their own views but I feel Talat did the right thing has he has had his hand extended to Papadop since the referendum he should not go running to Papadop at the click of his fingers just for votes coming up to an election.

Could you please exactly detail what your side has given when you claim you have given "EVERYTHING"

Could it be that Talat decided to meet on his own initiative and without consulting Turkey? And when found out he was told to cancel immediately, so the only reason he could find at the time was the football.

I am pretty certain you can all work out why Papadop called for a meeting so late in the day and with a pending election, what do you think would have been achieved other than a few more votes for Papadop. Talat did the right thing, well done we are not at the beck and call of GCs, the offer was there before why now and not then?
