I have a showroom in the town where I stay but I want to cater for anyone in the UK. I have pushed forward more today and it now looks like I will go down the website road and have an information cd available through the website. By using branded suppliers for the majority of the furniture it should give potential customers peace of mind for what they buying and if they want a better idea I can put them in touch with their nearest retailer for them to go and try. Bearing in mind I will be setting my prices lower than standard retail it will leave nothing to chance.

Cheers juliesewell, I've looked at .eu as well. Just can't have. However, I have hopefully secured another variation that will work. I'll confirm this week (don't want to curse myself) once its secured.

I looking into the possibilites of getting .com from its current owner. My other option is to advertise in magazines and perhaps (if possible) be allowed to do an advert on this website something similar to the Leptos banner at the top.

WWW.SHORE-2-SHORE.COM is available!

So is .co.uk & .eu!!!

You will need to set up a VAT & Ltd reg' company here & reg' for an import licence & Infastrat (sp?) if you import over the min' yearly allowance.

You do need to come over --- In the Paphos area there are LOADS of furniture shops!!!

So competition is huge!

Plus Retail shops are expensive to rent - esp' if your English!!!

As for warehouses - they are like gold dust...

I hope this helps, contact me if you need any more help.

Hi Stuart, thanks for your help. I have been over a few times now and yes, you're quite right there are a few furniture outlets already. However, the large majority of them are limited in choice of style and colour options, I'm hoping that by using the UK resourses available I can help create a 'home from home' feel rather than a 'holiday home' feel. My target market is people moving out to Cyprus from the UK, my friend who has moved out to Cyprus will deal with the customers already living there as he has started an interior design company. The import documents don't really come into play for me as I am retailing the goods in the UK. All the goods will be bought and paid for by the customer prior to shipping and my shipping company deal with all the import paperwork for me. There won't be any need for warehousing as my shipping company deliver direct to the customers house.

Hello again folks. Just been to see my web designer today and it looks like I will be putting all the information direct onto the web page and save customers the time and inconvenience of requesting a cd/dvd. It might take a bit longer to develop but ultimately it will work better. More to follow!

Cheers for that hunnibee. I have kinda sorted things out at this end. However, my friend who has just moved over may be interested. If things don't work out as planned with my current designer I'll come back to you.
