There was no Cyprus Problem for the TCs from 1974-2000

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Pyrpolizer » Fri Jul 20, 2007 3:16 pm

DA the claim that the TCs were squezzed in enclaves comprising 3% of Cyprus, DID NOT come from me, but from many TCs in this forum, tens of times.
Numbers have their signifigance my friend, not only for Gcs but for Tcs as well, otherwise why would they (the Tcs) use that 3% number? :wink:

Anyway you are right, I was actually referring to past discussions regarding this number.

Hey before you go on holidays would you mind enlighten Pyro who only knows "deniz" means sea, what denizaksulu means? Thanks.

greetings,Pyro...
It looks like like Deniz has disappeared already,so let me answer your query....Aksulu is probably his surname...But it does have a meaning in Turkish.Ak is white...and Su is water as you probably know....So Deniz Aksulu is Sea White-watered :wink: :lol: ....Hope that helps...

I always thought Ak meant 'flow'?

DenizAksulu = sea flowing watered = flowing watered sea :D

Could be wrong though...

Thanks Birkibrisli and T-C. I will wait for Mr Deniz Aksulu to come back I guess. From what you guys said it could also mean sea surfer, no?
Hey TC your signature is really good. Too bad they will not allow blue or red colours in a United Cyprus flag. Eliko's flag could have been perfect.

You are not wrong,t_c.... Akmak as a verb means to flow...but as an adjective "ak" means white....same as "beyaz"...but more poetic... :wink:
But Deniz will tell us which is which as Pyro says...

ak = white
su = water
aksulu = the one with white water (sounds a bit like red indian language but thats the proper transilation)

Pyro,colours on a flag mean nothing if people do not respect it an see it as their own..

That's correct iceman.

I actually see it as a two way though. Respect TO the flag, but the flag has to be dynamic enough to give hope and pride TO the people.
And what more dynamic is there than a combination of red, white and blue?

NB. The current RoC flag has absolutely no dynamic imo.

Even this black flag has more dynamic than the RoC flag :lol:

Hallo Pyro and Birkibrisli: I am currently suffering from the 'forum withdrawal symptom'. My laptop has died on me. I am just about to buy a new one. Now I am visiting my grand-daughter and she has kindly allowed me to use hers.
I ghad previously explained my 'name', maybe it was in a PM. You did well to get the meaning of the name right. AKSU is the new name for my village which is Anglissidhes (old Turkish name Anglisiya). In 1960 with the formation of the Republic pf Cyprus, NEW Turkish names were given to villages with ancient Greek of Latin/Italianate names. For me it was a pointless exercise. The name as correctly pointed out by BK means 'white waters' or 'clear waters' and was the given name to one of the ancient Turkic Nations capital in Eastern Turkistan. That city still exists with the same name but is no more than a provincial capital. AKSULU simply means 'from Aksu'. I merely use it as a screen name, but Deniz is my real name.
Regards to all.
