Hi,

We are planning a short stay in Nicosia during January-February 2008. Could anyone give me some insight into the possibility of hiring good caregivers for two English-speaking children, aged 1 and 4? Are they easy or difficult to find? What are reasonably caregiver salaries? How does one find a caregiver? And finally, what kind of child-friendly facilities are available in town, such as parks, indoor/outdoor playgrounds, winter-appropriate swimming pools, etc.?

Might be best to enrol them in a private english speaking nursery for the 2 months. Most caregivers are from Asian countries brought over specifically for a family that applies for them and their salary is around cy150.00 per month...shocking!!!!

Advertise for an english speaking nanny before you arrive in the cyprus weekly/mail.

They all boast "english speaking". Let me know if you need anything else. You could always try the Canadian Embassy and ask which one they use for the employees there.
