İn Cyprus tv system is PAL B/G .
İn U.K tv system is PAL I.

you can get picture but no sound......!!!!!!

Ask your dealer if your tv set has got a multi system . in this system u must have PAL B/G included.

Would it work if you had a surround sound system that would run from a scart socket?

Thats correct....UK TV sets OK when the source is is through scart...Problem is only with terrestrial TV channels that go through the TV sets tuner..
But as Halil has already adviced...If the TV set is has multi system which suppports PAL G as well as PAL I then there is no problem on terrestrial channels either..

Forget it Miltiades... Crossroads and Coronation Street boxes don't seem to work the same here and instead you get weird Greeko programs so stay where you are!

Dont listen to him miltiades....With a suitable dish you can watch UK terrestrial channels (BBC/ITV) no problem..

Since you mentioned it , the ONLY Greek programmes that I find interesting are Musical , and here I'm talking bouzouki , Margaritis being my favourite one. As far as watching a bunch of pretentious arses smoking like chimneys and dressed to the hilt at half 8 in the mornings forget it. Greek TV is in its infancy .Coronation str Crossroads dont ring a bell , are they Greek too , if not can I just say Its all Greek to me !!

ps.May I offer commiserations at the death of some of your mates in Pakistan , my condolences to you and Eliko , but I'm sure he is busy discovering the "root causes " of the problem !!!
