Ah, they are just trying to jump on the "excellence in machinery" bandwagon. Make people start linking Focus to BMW and Mercs basically (although my friend's £40k BMW is in and out of the shop like no tomorrow, while my other friend's £18k Focus ST has had no problems at all).
Saying that, I loved that report I read in a mag once about how Range Rovers were made somewhere in the UK and then rolled out to a garage 2 miles down the road. But they also rolled some out of the same factory (same conveyor belt infact I believe) as left hand drive cars and sent to Germany for sale too. Apparently even with all the cost of going to Germany, buying the same car there, getting it converted to right hand drive, and then bringing it back to the UK and all that goes with getting it on the road, it would still be cheaper (by a fair bit) than buying it from the garage 2 miles down the road from where they build it. Nice. Plus apparently the salesman in Germany is likely to take you for a drink or meal to discuss your purchase. Tops.
Cheers
