Have the other serious issues regarding the mismanagement of funds been resolved ?, have those who fell victim to the scam been reimbursed?, is this new appeal sourced from a genuine charitable organisation?.

I fear the controversy preceding your appeal (particularly since you are a new member), may well have had an effect which could prove detrimental to your cause.

I already make contributions to an organisation in the UK and would be reluctant to subscribe to yours on account of the foregoing.

The one I found most caring and helpful was the PanCyprian Cancer group, and also the Marguerite Fund. Both with offices in Lemesos.
Also when I am in Bank of Cyprus I use the collection boxes there, I think their help with the Oncology Department in Nicosia is outstanding.
Always check the authenticity of any charity but all the genuine ones are willing to give any information you need. Just wish I could help more groups.
