You're not reading CAREFULLY enough. That quote claims that Turkey would invade IRAN! That WOULD be suicidal I assure you.

unfortunately Natalia as long as 37% of our country is under turkish occupation we need to serve in the army. I think the majority of us understood and accepted this, there is a 1-2% of GC youths mostly of an extreme left or anarchist ideology that do not want it nor accept it.
Aha Mr Iceman...Natalia asked us of our opinion and i have provided. I accept the national service because of the occupation. Had we not been in this state i would buy/lie/cheat to get out of it.
I agree, yet it is outrageous to do the military in Cyprus for more than 2 years(if i am not mistaken).
What is the time for the TC?

In general i am against compulsory military service in Greece(12 months),for Cyprus i am 50%-50% due to the occupation.

If i am supposed to be an equal citizen to women as the constitution says(In Greece),shouldnt also female citizens do it compulsory as well???
Hello SN: You need the women to stay home to
'increase the population of Greece' so they have more soldiers to defend their little rocks in the Aegean. Only joking. Oh no I am not!!

This Turkish army people are afraid of, how come they could not sort out the Kurdish terrorists. With such great numbers you would imagine they would seal the borders more effectively. I wonder if its about the big handout the 'USA allegedly' gave the Military. (so they do keep out of Iraq).

Hi Deniz
You keep forgetting how many million (unhappy) Kurds live in Turkey as Turkish citizens...
One other point is,without military conflict would the Turkish army still have the same importance for Turkish public?
Army needs to be on stage to be able to hold the power they have

I also hate World Politics

Well yeh they'd be able to get instant state benefits a council house full of all the necessitieas such as furniture, white goods etc unlike most British citizens who have to fight for every penny (most of them lose the fight).

Getting back on track where would they go, the Turks don't want them, the Iraqis don't want them, maybe they should go back where they belong.
