What's in a name?

Postby webbo » Sun Jul 08, 2007 9:10 am

Morning fellow forum mates.
i need your help please. My cousins have just returned home from a fantastic 2 week holiday here. They have a gorgeous granddaughter by the name of Eleni (conceived on a Greek island by all accounts!). Trouble is they and myself could not find one single thing with her name on, not even a bib!! They did not want a balloon and now it is up to me to find something and send it on. Can you help in my quest please? Is there anywhere on this island I can find such items? What do the Cypriots do on name days??? Will I ever find what i want?????

ta for you help
Bubbles x x

Hi Bubbles,
The wife works for a print shop in Paphos, and they do a lot of T-shirts (even baby ones) and caps, hats, etc. with pictures and names printed on them. If this is of any help please PM me.

Cheers for that Kafenes. Will the printers have them already made up or do I have to supply the goods? May contact you the next time I am down Pafos way.

They do have a catalogue of products you can choose from, but for a baby you might need to purchase T-shirt or hat yourself and supply a picture and what you want written. You can then spend a few minutes with the wife who will do the final design and upon your approval they will print it.

Cheers hannygirl. I had a look at the site and akthough I do not speak Dutch, I got the gist. I do like the Dutch language though as many of the words resemble my native 'Geordie' dialect, lol!!

You can buy teddy bears which have name tags that you buy separately and stick on the bears stomach. They are sold in bigger supermarkets and card shops. They are about CYP4.00 By the way 21 May is the name day for Eleni. For our god children we buy them an outift and a toy on their name day. When you get older, when it's your name day, you have to treat everyone else!!!!!
