As I'm sure you're aware this is very rare now in any country.
I think it has already been mentioned elsewhere on the thread that if this had happened in the UK then by playing the mental health issue (which is very hard to disprove) then the perpetrator would have probably only got 5 years.
If the murderer does in fact stay in prison for the full 14 years then to be honest I think that it is the best that could be hoped for - whether its right or not is another matter
Richard I have my doubts, as this issue would have triggered a lot more back lash had the convenient "i am mental" card had not been played. The fact that it was a TC child and the brutality and verocity of the crime if not clouded over by the mental health issue would have cause an uprising by TCs on both sides of the divide.
