You cannot claim back what you never lost. Any immoveable property that belongs to TCs still belongs to TCs.
The only grey area is that some TC houses are lived in by GC refugees but the property has not changed hands. It still belongs to the TCs, who are free to negotiate a settlement with the present occupiers, if they wish.
Thanks Jerry I stand corrected, who runs Ali's bar these days and are they paying him rent. Ali's bar was a favourite watering hole for service personel from Episkopi garrisson, my main concern is that if I bought a property how safe would I be regarding a TC claiming it was his land?Jerry wrote:Southerner wrote:Episkopi near Limassol was a Turkish Villge it is now occupied by GCs with many new housing developements in the area, I want to move to Cyprus (the south) but doesn't the same rule apply to both sides; how can I be sure that one day a TC won't come knocking on my door telling me I'm on his land? with title deeds taking up to 10 years in some cases how can you be sure?devil wrote:Southerner wrote:Yes but can TCs claim back their land in the south (for example Episkopi village near Limassol) if there is a settlement to the problem.?

(Abandoned) TC land is held in trust by a Government department and it is not possible to buy it, so this would not be a problem.
