The Annan plan - the global Empire's glorified "solution" for Cyprus - states very clearly what it's all about. That is the reason why is is so popular with the local leaders:
o - it creates a "legal" partition of the island along ethnic and racial divisions, and it gives the local ruling classes each an ethnic kingdom of their own. how does this sound? It gives to each of them, an ethnic kingdom of their own!

It is also the same reason why the global Empire wants the plan so much:
o - the Imperial rulers understand very clearly that the Annan plan is built on racism and injustice, flushing human and civil rights down the toilet. They also understand that as certainly as the sun will rise, the communities will soon rebel against it - having no radical alternatives or progressive options available we will start killing each other again, and the only solution will be that the US /UK "Allies" will have to bomb us like Bosnia, in order to........ create peace. The global Empire's agenda has not changed. Anything to promote the formula of Eternal War and instability will be pursued by them, at any cost. And there will always be "progressives" trying to sell us that idea.

Hmmmm.....whadya reckon, i kinda see the authors point.

I mostly agree with the above quote.

I said many times in here that Annan plan creates two states with just enough "union" as it is needed so that TC will enter the EU. We will be able to move and live in Finland ,Lithuania etc, but we will not be able to do the same in the north. And then they call this thing a "union"

However, i disagree with the kingdom part. Why for example the leaders of an internationally recognized state would want to become leaders of a small ethnic group?

The Annan plan fits the interests of UK and US mostly, and tries not to hurt the interests of Turkey. Out of this TC gain a ton of things, and we gain nothing.(not to say that we will have to pay on top of that!)
