How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

You need to wake up a bit because too many years in Deutschland makes the brain go jelly-like.

Indeed, some elements in Europe would rather have an idiot for a Cyprus president so that the “problem” gets sorted out quickly regardless of the outcome because they have nothing to lose anyway and couldn’t care less about us. Indeed some of them are even obstructed from expanding their financial gains due to the Cyprus problem.

Cypezokyli, I hope one day that you’ll re-discover your Cypriotness and feel the pride and passion that many of us are experiencing here because I really do feel for our people lost in the diaspora.

You already have a total plonker as leader, am ex eoka man who married his best friends wife not exactly the best credetials and the EU appear to tollerate him as he appears as the most ignored and unwanted man.

A leader that disappoints our enemies must be doing something right for us.

Of course, there are many Cypriot jelly-heads in the diaspora. You are NOT alone.

The UN cannot protect themselves let alone TCs, we want Turkey here until we find a solution its as simple as that and as we are a part of this island you have to accept this fact. The only way you get Turkey to leave is to show to TCs that a united Cyprus will benefit everyone and that they will not be politically brushed to oneside by the numerically larger and agressive GC "RoC" steam roller. Since the last attempt at unification the side who resoundingly rejected the plan put before the people have not produced any alternativesto the plan, so while you have your fingers up your arse and dont know what the fuck you want Turkey will remain our guests.

VP I have never swore at you. Why are you finding it fitting that you swear at me. You are the one with the constanbt racist remarks towards Greek Speaking cypriots. If you cannot talk to me nicely please do not talk to me at all.

I apologise humanist if you took offence at my last post but the feeling in the north is that the GCs do not and have never wanted a solution, their inaction and rhetoric confirm and perpetuate this feeling. The level playing field is the only way forward where TCs can see concrete changes that will benefit everyone proving that unificaition is better than division. At the moment division is the safer bet.

VP thank you for the apology. Calmness and respect from all of us to all of us will achieve greater results. Thanks again. Greek speaking Cypriots generally feel disillusioned and feel that they will not get to return to their homes. Thus despondent about the whole thing. Yet they are not ready to let it go either.

My understanding VP is that Talat has been the one stalling July 8th agreement talks. However, I believe he may be ready to resume after his disappointing meeting with EU leaders recently.

Greek speaking Cypriots will agree on BBF with right of return and demilitarisation of the Island.

There have been a couple of sugestions on this forum of recent about what it might look like. BBF like US was posted by Kikapu and BBF based on german model by another memmber I am not sure who. Both sound fair systems one United country. Perhaps our leaders need to use thse two examples as beginning steps toward solution.

Your last coment about division is best for now ... I doubt it as your community is still faced with economic embargo after 33 years and it doesn't look like it is going to change anytime soon. So the sooner we start talking about unifying at least the economic domain to bring you up to EU standard my guess would be a good starting point also.

I think it is time we all realised there are considerably influential forces both inside and outside Cyprus which will never want Cyprob solved, for their own selfish interests....Some of these interests are political, some are strategic, and some are purely materialistic....Until we stop our endless bickering amongst ourselves and come to the conclusion that we are only playing into the hands of those foreign and domestic interests, and begin organising at grassroots level as Cypriots,we have Buckley's chance of finding a lasting solution to our little problem...
